unusual place to see fox

a friend of mine went to check on his boat during the hard frost he has it on a lake 2half mile long by 1half mile wide theres an island bout half mile out from 1 shore and he spotted a fox heading back to shore from the island on the ice this is the first time the lake ever froze over that i can remember and also a first to hear off a fox on the island this lake goes to 40ft in places

ive saw foxes crossing icey lakes when there froze solid the need to feed drives them to places you wouldnt usaually expect them, wasnt there an article in the sun a few years back where a woman saw a family of foxes living high up in a tree in london somewhere might not be london though but there was defonatley an article on this :thumbs:

i seen in book a bloke walking his dog shot one resting in tree mad as f..ck they say foxs come from the cat family along the line dont know if true but still mad

Hi mate i seen a fox about 30 foot up a tree

my mate who only comes out now then seen the story in book when comes out now then looks up to se if ther is any hanging round up there told him its a rare sight but still looks up :laugh::laugh::laugh:

many foxes live in trees, not unusual at all. in lime trees they will have litters. a fox will live where ever they feel safest and are opportunists... clearly in your area they are safe in trees so id start looking and not worry about books. :thumbs:

 

as for fox on lake, i think foxes are just very good a poking around and taking opportunities when they present themselves.its amazing where they do get.

Ive seen one come down from an ivy tree a while back.Was out shooting with the rifle and thought it was a cat first off.I let it run as I dont shoot foxes unless requested to do so.He wasnt too excited seeing me either,just strolled away at a leisurly pace
