rocky1 942 Posted December 24, 2010 Report Share Posted December 24, 2010 just wondering how many times a day you lads and lasses are filling them up ,as just keeps frezezeing ,when i fill mine up which is about 5 times aday ,i emty the block of ice,i pour boiling water into the boil [big bowl]and then half with cold ,just wondering how much water do you think a dog needs a day,and do they drink more or less when it this cold,,,,atb,,,and happy christmas ,,,,,gaz Quote Link to post

I USE EARTHENWARE BOWLS SO PUP CANT TIP EM OVER & IM HAVING 2 BOIL KETTLES WHEN CHANGING BOWLS & PUT EM TO SOAK IN A BUCKET TO MELT THE ICE. WHEN I WASH THE RUNS I HAVE TO PUT SALT DOWN TO STOP IT ICING. POLITICIANS MADE RUNNING A DOG ILLEGAL, THIS WEATHER MAKES IT IMPRACTICAL Edited December 25, 2010 by optimus Quote Link to post

Penda 3,355 Posted December 26, 2010 Report Share Posted December 26, 2010 Mine are out side and they do freeze up but wat i do to stop it freezing solid is mix some table salt and sugar in the bowl a little trick my dad taught me its good for your dogs too it actually acts as an electrolite and you find the water does really freeze solid mine do freeze but its like theyve got a slush puppy in there bowls ha ha ha Quote Link to post
