I know alot of you lads use a Bipod to great effect . I have never owned one or have a slightest clue about them, the only one I have seen was a Harris type fitted to a pals AA 410 which was very nice.

I'm now in the running for one but was hopeing you could give me the pro's and cons on what to go for? for a start they seem to have different height adjustments! what height would you go for :hmm:

there also seems to be many for sale on Ebay from abroad for a good price! most are makes I have never heard off like the one in the link below, anyone purchased the likes of this off ebay or where ever?

also meant to say I have one of them DR BOB clamps to fit over the bottle which hopefully would do the job for a mount.

Hi, mate.   You may have problems if you fit any kind of pod (gay, straight, bi or curious...) to your TX. If you're shooting from the pod all the time you'll be fine but when you're not useing it,

Hiya Jasp,

I initially purchased a cheap Chinese jobby for my S200. Been very happy with it indeed :gunsmilie:

Then back in July, Davy gave me one that was a little knackered (much larger than mine, well twice as big).

I took it to pieces and found out that one of the leg locks had worn, so I fitted the two long legs to my el-cheapo short leg one.

I've been using it ever since and its had its advantages when the grass was longer in the paddock.

Personally there are only my HW pistols and my S200 that aint cheap Chinese stuff. It may be cheap but its certainly worth the money.

As mentioned before, I'm not a Brand Snob

Hi Jasper,

This is the same sort I have on my r10 and Ultra.

I’ve had the one on the r10 now almost 2 years and it’s so good I bought one for the Ultra.

The Ultra one is a slight bit bigger that the r10 (this model in fact) and I wouldn’t pay for any other kind mate, its fabulous.

There are more expensive models (Harris) etc but this one does it all except tilt which you can adjust the legs on this one individually anyway to suit the ground slope etc.

Si.

Hey bud,

Mine took less than 2 weeks and it was running up to xmas (or was that the lamp?) anyway, I've not had to wait very long for anything I've ordered (and I've had loads) from Hong Kong :gunsmilie:

I was looking at some scopes from the States T. I couldn't beleive the saving to be made compared to here in the UK! The Nikon Monach scopes was a good half prices than the one's advertised in the UK, also a pretty good saving from china and japan with other make scopes such as Hawke.

I Don't suppose you or anyone else has tried this route buying optics mate?

I have indeed, not the States as last time I did bring something in, I got hammered for inport duty :wallbash: more than the price of the goods and shipping and shipping fromt he States is silly money as well  although I have a friend over in New Orleans who; if I have goods sent to his address, will send them over to me at a greatly reduced cost :D He does it for a lot of us now :victory:

My MK4 scope came from HK  it's made in the same factory as the Leupolds but it had a slight blemish on the objective lens coating (does not hinder the scope in any way shape or form) but they sell them off cheap because its cheaper to flog them as seconds without the books than it is to have them disassembled and sorted then rebuilt again.

I used to buy cases of binoculars manufactured by a reputable "Name" and flog them on eBay a few years ago.

It was the same, they were made as 3-9X50mm but they had gone through the factory and had the front plates put on them and rubber armour then they realised the front plates had 3-9X60mm stamped on them. I explained on my listings what was wrong with them (the stamp on the plate) and I always got 100% positive feedback

I used to get them at 11£ a pair and they all (apart from the pair I still have and a pair I gave away as a gift) sold for £48 to £60 never had a single pair returned either.

Jasp the bipod you have linked to is the exact one I bought and currently have on my HW100

Good, strong and well made. I'm not bothered what anyone says, they are just as good as the Harris/Deben ones out there for a fraction of the cost
