gnasher16 31,602
Nah, dont see the point of buying a house elsewhere, and surrounded by the same kind... I think the whole thing about going abroad is changing your lifestyle.. As you'll get bored of sitting in the sun 200 days of the year, never mind 365... I would anyway, like to be doing things.. You say that, but some of us are not thinking of moving to indulge in a different lifestyle...im perfectly happy with the lifestyle ive got now im just sick of being a foreigner in my own country...i can cope with the weather,i can cope with the life....i just cant cope with sharing with people i detest ! So if im moving abroad i want to be surrounded by my own kind in nice surroundings,if i want a different culture i might as well stay here !...ive already had to move away from an area i loved....if im going to move away from a country i love its not a decision im taking lightly or getting pleasure from having to make ! mackem 29,692
the contrast between somewhere like Byfleet or Sunbury and Hounslow is unbelievable Kept my place in Sunbury when I left,as you said its huge chasm twixt Sunbury and Hounslow,I always wondered what cloud the politicians had their heads in,multi-culturalism?Nigerians prefer peckham as its nigerian enclave in London, likewise somalins nowdays prefer places like Southall because its turning into mini-mogadishu,Indians prefer Hounslow because its indian shops, streets, restaurants etc, like normally attracts like, the idyllic sounding mixed neighbourhood of sikh, muslim, christin, brahmin all coexisting happily side by side in the same street sounds like some sort of think-tank utopia, have to say most of my neighbours here are moro, glad I didnt burn my bridges, you never know when you need to retrace your steps. We live in the country and dont see this kind of atmosphere.. It sounds like you need to move away from the area and find some where nice to live in england, as you already have you home abroad as well... The reason we bought our 2nd home(gran canaria) waS To get away from the way of life we were used to, and chill in another culture...In fact we are going there on friday, leaving this snow behind, cant wait...
