hi every one

just got back from the grain store,my intensions was to walk in with no lights on.and do some video filiming, but sorry couldnt do it.far to much noise going on ,in the way of rat movement

its to small an area i think to use a rifle, but then i suppose once chaz and i work out some sniper pionts the we shall

i used a BSA scorpion pistol this evening, with nikko stirling silver crown 2.5X32 scope, and my lamp.which to be fair worked well together as i walked in i could here all the pitter patter of rats running about, and here them sqeeling.very unnerving!

i must of walked 10yds and one ran staright across me,and in to a gully as i looked around where it went i flicked the lamp on and it was there, quick ti get the scope up and THWACK!! it was lights for it.

i then made my way up the stairs to the gantry walk area, and 2 rats came running down on the stair string!! shit my self i did  as i got to the top i see about 8 rats all run off the grain and on to gantry. i lent on a steel post and took the second one out THWACK!! jump it did and went back in to the grain.as i put the torch to the left another was ther THWACK!! down it went

the daystae range master's were doing there job

i went to the end of the gantry and another 4 were sitting at the left hand side wing, i took aim THWACK!! over it went with a squeel, another came running at me and i let a little scream!!!! out it stopped and gave me enogh time to break the barrel and slip a .177 pellet in, a flick of the lamp and it was still there! THWACK!! thats for making me scream

then i came back down again and had a cigerette to calm down  and went back in,headed to the first spot another was there THWACK!! and now it was down! as i was on my way back up to the gantry ,and there is a machine they must use for filling the grain bags. and 2 ran in to it, so i waited for about 10 minutes and gave a flick of me lamp to the place whare i could here it. out popped it little ugly head and i sent a 8.5 grain lead to the head THWACK!! no more grain robbing for you!

i headed back up to the gantry, and i could here this knawing like munching, i looked around all the grain hoppers nothing, then i looked about 1.5 mtrs in front of me and there it was having a good ole munch,so i took 4 large back steps took aim THWACK!! no more for it!!

after this my nerves were in tatters, so i had to call it a night, i didnt even go right at the back where i could here all the camotion! thought i would leave that area for charlie!

so gathered them all up and took this pic for ya all

Such a good write up Davy :notworthy:

Well deserving of many an SP

I am so glad that I am not the only one to cack himself when out ratting; although I've gotten used to them now. Well I think I have!

Excellent to see someone use a Pistol for short range Ratting :gunsmilie: I'm going to be taking my ASI Sniper (30 shot break barrel springer) and my HW40 pistol next time I go with Dillan. Take the Scope off and have a go at open sights Buddy (paper first as always like), you'll get to the point you can cleanly take a rat very quickly without having to concentrate on the crosshair :D

Again, bleddy good write up and absolutely AWSOME shooting :toast:

Davy Buddy,

Will you do me a favour and have the pistol Chronoed for me please :notworthy:

People still won't belive that you don't need massive amounts of power to kill an animal humanely!

I bet you will be suprised at the results

Send me the results via PM if you want :D
