Guest vin
Wind was well up earlier..little bit of drizzle.perfect ! Had a mooch with my daft rescue dog just to see whats about for future reference in a couple of old spots. Had some runs on daft rabbits dancing in the beam that a bloody terrier would have caught, and still this daft old messed up thing failed.LOL. Its comedy now to me,it makes me laugh how bad it is.....good job the missis and young un love the daft old bugger. Ive decided to retire the dog and leave it inside of an evening warming my side of the bed up for me...lol. It's not coming lampin ever again..end of...it can come ferreting and mooching in daytime and pretend to be a Lurcher. But for me I'm gonna admit defeat for the 1st time ever and say "I've failed". Believe me..I have tried hard to get this dog going on the lamp but its just not fast enough or anywhere near clever enough for the easiest of bunnies. No matter what...you cannot polish a turd. I've had a second/third/and fourth opinion from better dog men than I ever was/were/or could be and its agreed without doubt why it was a rescue dog in the 1st place,But we have had some side slitting laughs finding out of an evening.LOL. So its time for a fresh start,Ive posted in the wanted section for a Lampin bitch if anyone knows of anything coming up available. i cant take another winter without a bit of lampin. I have already spoken to one or two very very decent people who have offered me pups and Dogs but no suitable bitch so far anywhere Nr Yorkshire. Check my add in wanted section and PM me please if you know of anything. ATB Vin. Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Thats a shame mate but at least you've given him a fair chance to prove himself and a good home even though he failed. Theres not many people out there who'd be as honest. Good luck finding the right bitch 2 Quote Link to post

Big bald beautiful 1,231
Why not buy a pup? without sounding funny who the hell parts with a GOOD lamping bitch? Quote Link to post
Guest arch1
Iv'e got the opposite problem, all my rescue bitch wants to do in the daylight is play with my mates Terriers. Never ending. But come night time she changes completely, looks straight down the beam, moves her head when i'm scanning the fields. The lot. Pitty we have the Myxie here at the moment. So what little rabbits their were, are now gone. Good on yer for keeping you rescue and good luck with a new one though. Quote Link to post

ATB Vin. if the dogs keen to chase and taking for granted the dog is fit?how many times have you gone out and caught nothin, that can become a bad habit, you and the dog have just picked up,but as that can be a bad habit ,gettin it right can be learnt ,dont slip the dog till you know its got a better than good chance of success, slippin it just for a run is no good, confidence is lost.you need to build it slowly, id do nothin with the dog for a while till it gets bored, then start properly. Guest vin
Why not buy a pup? without sounding funny who the hell parts with a GOOD lamping bitch? Tell me about it... no one does do they. how do u think I ended up with this one I've got now. Ive been offered some very good pups from some very decent lads on here. But I want to get out now,not in 18 months time. If i had a dog worth taking out and showing a pup the ropes it would,nt be so bad.My mates old dog is on its last legs and all my other mates are into gun dogs nowadays. every now and then someone has one dog too many or they decide to pack up etc etc..so it might come my way. I see it like this...IF its advertised for sale. its probably for a good reason and 9/10 its not gonna be what its supposed to be. blah blah blah. But if someone is in a pickle and has got to get rid or is thinking about it for whatever reason... I might stand a chance of cutting out the bull shitters and pedlers of dogs and drop on a genuine dog from a genuine bloke. and believe me there's some propper decent people on here who i have spoke to so far. atb vin Quote Link to post

Too many times matey..most of last winter..tried it on some I could have caught myself. it's had more chances than I've ever seen any dog or pup or mongrel miss.I would go as far as to say this dog is Biddable ! i would bet you any ferking money it can't catch a bunny.lol heheeee. One day without doubt just by the law of averages she,s gonna catch one...But ! it will only be one that runs straight into its mouth. atb vin Quote Link to post
tsteve9999 456
It's great to see a man admit to not being Gods gift to the lurcher world, just a genuine honest trier. I'm sure you'll cop for a goodun next time, and all the best with it when you do. Quote Link to post
