Interesting read about the media bias of Pit Bulls

Recommended Posts

Just read this and thought it might worth putting up here. Im sure it all stuff the majority on here already know but thought i'd share it anyway. i don't own or have ever owned one but i like the breed and think its a joke how they are treated and reported on.

I was walking the pup's the other day, and there's a.... how should I put it.... ASIAN fellow who lives a few doors down from me who has got a PitBull that he leaves to run up and down the Alley way that runs between the entrances to the back gardens of the houses. An old bloke drove into alley to put his motor away and when he opened the gates the dog ran out and bolted over towards my pups. I was relieved to see that all the Pit wanted to do was play with my pups, and was a nice dog. I told the thick idiot to get it on a lead, and with that he took his dog back in and that was that.

I've not got a problem with the breed what so ever, but I think only very few people should have them because of the potential risk they pose in he wrong hands. The Paki who's got one a few doors down certainly shouldn't have one, he's already proved he isn't responsible enough to handle a dog like that for allowing it to run wild, even if it is just that once, and even though the dog wasn't acting aggressively, it's besides the point. One mistake and that's another Pit in the papers for killing someone else's dog, or another serious Pit attack against a kid on the news.

It's the clowns that have spoilt it for everyone else who are responsible enough to own one and know how to control them.

I always think that a "bad dog" IS NOT a bad dog until its picked up by a "bad owner". I would never under no circumstances judge a dog by its breed. Nicole.

Some say the breed is bad, some the owner; most don't mention the breeding. The chavs that are peddling these "pits" (and I use the term lightly to describe these huge mastiff-cross type things that these young men parade about with) are not bothered about breeding off man biters, perhaps even CHOOSE man biters for that reason. true , in all breeds you get good+bad temps. Any dog from jt to GD can bite and do damage, and there alot of breeds with far worse temps apbt's. But the prob with pits, is there is no breed with there tenacity+guts, and pound for pound a very powerful dog  . and if they do kick off for what ever reason, you are in big trouble. Ive had bullxs+ pure, all had Brill temps and were all socialised with people+dogs no prob. But you will always get powerful breeds like these get in the wrong hands, they represent a very powerful macho image. And there will more fatality's + injuries , while they keep getting in the wrong hands. The breed wont go away so probs wont go away.

If you were that concerned why didn't you report it and what's with the racist comments . Totally uncalled for

You completely miss the point.

I'm not a grass for one and besides that it didn't cause me or my pups any harm and was no trouble so I've no reason to go grassing and get the dog put down when it hasn't done anything wrong to me or my dogs.

Is that what you would do under the same circumstances is it? Go snitching because the dog come over to play?

As for racist comments, why are you concerned?

i've met a few pits here and abroad and they were the most placid dogs you could meet. most pakis and chav's would not want a real apbt as they dont look very macho they prefer the american bully type which is really a mongrel in my eyes.
