hullhunter 219
hi all i got a call from a farmer that i have not done any shooting for in two years saying can i come down and pop a few rabbits off on his land so i said yes. got all my gear out and set off when i got there there was about 15 rabbits sat out so i thourght this was going to be a good day. after talking to the farmer for 5 min i went down to my old snipping spot and had about a 10 min wate till the first few rabbits came out (well out of range)an hour later still no closer but i thourght ill give it an other hour as i new there is a warren closer than the ones they were coming out of. an other hour later and still no rabbits in range so i had no chose but to move to a differant spot. on the way i seen two woodys with there haeds down so i thourght they will do but as i went to neel down a stud on a stick and they were off. got to the new sniping spot set up and had to wate 45 min for the first rabbit to show its face (it was a kit)so left it for the time been thinking its mom or dad would be along soon. but after 30min they didnt show and the kit had got. then about 10 min later out hopped a big one. this was my chance so i put the cross hairs over its head and wated for it to turn, as it turned i tuck up the first stage of the triger and bang it was gone and this dog came out of nowere and ran off. i didnt see any one so i dont no were it cane from. so not much later i seen the grass moveing (in range) so i lifted the gun up to have a look and just as i did a kit jumped out about six foot away from were i had seen the grass moveing you are mine i thourght. so i got it in the scope and wack it droped down dead with its leg twitching i was just about to get up and go get it when i seen the grass move again then a little stote came belting out grabbed my rabbet and belted into the bushes (the little twat) so i thourght stuff this im going home then just as i got up a woody landed in the tree so i took the shot and missed. just my luck!! so all in all what looked like it was going to be a good day turned out to be a waste of time. well you cant win them all. atb hullhunter Edited May 27, 2010 by hullhunter Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Better luck next time mate. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do to try and fill your game bag, it always seems as though God is on the side of your quarry. On these days it’s just best to go home and have a beer mate. Phantom 631
Chris, Don't listen to Si, contrary to what he say's I am NOT on the side of anyones quarry at all  Its frustrating aint it, remember knocking over a young un and a Fox jumped out from the orchard and nicked it from me. Lil git didn't hand around for it piccy, thats my only gripe about it. You could have had the Stoat as well they are on the GL if I remember correctly but am open to correction on that Take care Phantom Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
I saw one up near the Church in Brantingham years ago chasing a kit, not yet half grown. I didn't have a clue what it was until I got back to the village post office for a coke and told the woman what I had seen. I called it a Slinky Thing Talk about bold as brass! This little slinky thing was so small, for every hop the kit made towards the log piles, the slinky had to bound about 5 times but persaverance paid off and it went for the kit's throat wasn't long before it killed it! I was mesmerised by the whole event. Phantom Quote Link to post
