Gulls apart from the Lesser Black-backed Gull are illegal to shoot in England under the general licence unless the correct licence has been obtained (which I hope you had!!) otherwise I'd remove this post to save yourself the grief mate!

uuhhh...mate unless you have a speical licence you can't shoot those. and even if you did you could only shoot them to protect crops, protect public health and safety and protect wildlife.

If he has the appropriate permit then, he would be killing them under the Public Health & Safety

But I wonder if a permit would be issued for using an airgun?

hi lads

well heres my 2p worth when you apply for a special licence it takes about 4 weeks to get it granted and they will only be granted to professional qualified people or registered pest control companies/local authorities even then you wouldnt believe how much HSE is taken into account as well as other options (this is also part of the licence shooting is always a last option all other measures must have been tried)before they are granted a licence to shoot the birds this is why the local council might not have done anything they cant until they get the licence is granted IF... you have to ask yourself why the gulls are being so aggressive towards her ...probably nesting and the lady is very close to the nest sight why not proof the building instead of shooting the birds if it is a nest sight fouling will be a problem this is another reason under the "public health" section of the licence to remove the birds ....

milo buddy your probably best off just deleting the post to save your self any grief mate
