poacher3161 1,766
SHO8 YOU MAYBE THINK IM RUINING THINGS MATE FAR FROM IT I LIKE GOOD WORKING ANIMALS AND IF A MAN OR WOMAN HAS A GOOD DOG ILL E BE THE FIRST ONE TO SAY THAT,IF THERE A BAG OF SHIT SAME WAY, SURLY THERE NOTHING BAD ABOUT THAT BUD,AND WHEN YOU HAVE GOD ONES ITS HARD TO KEEP IT GOING , AND HARD TO REPLACE , AT TIMES Not being funny whin but the deerhound was in a lot of lurcher to lurcher bred dogs 30 years ago and some very good hare killing dogs were produced [bANNED TEXT] deerhound greys were crossed back to collie grey hybrids i have seen quite a few of these run over the years and were outstanding all round lurchers Quote Link to post
Guest arch1
To me this thread is what i always thought a Lurcher should look like. A proper poachers dog. Edited April 11, 2010 by Ossie'n'Arch Quote Link to post

whin 463
i understand that poacher and up to tenty five years ago maybe only twenty odds i saw one and worked a few , but are the animals there nowadays that were like them yearsa go , the coyote hounds i se and work with are tough like bell metal live poutside course jacks coyotes ,not pamperd poches and have an alround appearance of soundness , for killing game , the dogs we had had pretty strong shoulders even the bitches they were not fine like a lot ive saw ,in the last ten yearsa or more ,the book sighthounds my old long gone frank sheardown there were a few pics of good deerhound crosses ,the saluks have got it [bANNED TEXT] and same with some good collie lines maybe the deerhound will revive like them and be more than just the showy looking long dog of late and compete in the most important stakes catching game and being tough and durable ,i was brought p with stag crosses or deerhoundy lurchers up until the black country sting plummer etc slagging them off then the good saluks came along well the deerhound was not needeafter that much Quote Link to post
