hi lads

well the week flew over this week it seems like yesterday when i was last out lol if youve read about wor kids little adventure you'll know we had a change in tic tac's he wanted to go try the small permission he went to last night to get his revenge for the night before but to be honest its a little to small for 2 nuggets dressed in kinky green oops i mean karky green (spelling i know )

and as we normally split up when we hit the ground on a small permission that can be dangerous (friendly fire)and all that lol saying that its not the first time ive mistaking him for a rabbit ..is it darryl :whistling: but thats a different story anyhow back to my night...

it started off around 23:00 not a bit of wind,,clear sky,,and quiet warm so straight away i knew it was going to be a hard night (on nights like this the slightest sound can be heard miles away) but it made a change from wind rain ad snow nowt puts us geordie's off getting a bit meat ya na.

so anyway i got to the ground around 00:00 an just took my time it was good to be back out young lambs crying in the field just down from me the smell of fresh air filling my lungs (yes i know fresh air has no smell) but its painting a picture for you lads who are stuck in the house lamp on,, mag loaded,, and off we go and before i even get to the 1st gate 2 bunnies chomping the curd so using the gate as a rest 1st bunny in the bag i didnt get time to lase it but the crosshairs were bang on so it must of been around 30mtrs number 2 bolted straight down the hole so as it was a nice night i decided to lay up for a bit to see if he came out within 10 minutes a head appeared then disappeared it took another 40 mins before he came back out and he didnt go back down bring it on i thought ... 2 in the bag night started off well me thinks

so off and over the field to the top set

for some reason as it was a nice night i didnt mind laying up normally i just like to wonder but no tonight patients was my foe.. as i approached the top sets there was 4 rabbits out but like normal with this set they wernt far from the holes so clinical head shots were in order it seemed like ages to get into a good position in these conditions i had to take my time down to my knee i took up the 1st stage but as im getting on a bit my breathing was all over the place its either age or shape (lol or lack of shape and to much age) it still dropped 40mtrs 3 down ,,two of the others bolted to the holes the other must of been the thicko of the family cos he ran towards me 30mtrs then 20 i thought he was gonna chin me then he stopped about 15mtrs i couldnt believe it got him my sights squeeze and bollocks i forgot to cock it :censored: there was no way i could cock this without the bunny hearing me but the cocking on the 510 is so smooth i did BUT MISSED !! 15mtrs and missed a sitter i was kicking myself but not letting it get to me i just set up camp and waited sure enough 1 by 1 they started to appear so out went the lights of number 1 and for some reason the rest didnt want to come back out not sure why lol

that was 4 so off i went beck to the jeep for a cuppa and to drop off these bunnies after a while they get heavy lol again that could be me getting older no lets call it mature anyway as i was sitting drinking coffee i had a quick flick of the lamp and that 1st set just up from the gate a single red beed looked back at me so as the gate was about 30mtrs from the set i added another 5 for good measure 35mtr ish 1/2 a mil dot hold over and it joined its mates from earlier so i totaled 5 for the night and went home having enjoyed a good night and very happy

Arron the lamp is a Deben Tacer Max with dimmer a filter and i think that Gary as a dimmer switch too now for it.

 

Its a ace bit of hunting kit.
