I don't think anyone should have the right to decide whether another person has kids or not, but at the same time I don't think it's right when retarded people have kids. There's a young lady by us who has the mental age of about a 12 year old and she gave birth to a child after being impregnated by some lad who's even more simple than she is. The kid who gave her the baby just sits on the bus all day eating chocolate bars. In my opinion it was incredibly irresponsible of the parents of both of these people to allow such a thing to happen. It is quite possible that the baby referred to above will have normal intelligence. A Downs syndrome man or woman can parent children who are free of the condition. Islamic culture is very stiffling and doesn't promote free thinking. I know this isn't nice for the more liberal to hear but I work with these people and they just don't seem to be able to think around a problem or diagnose it. Now this is probably 'nurture'. I think bad nurture can do more damage than bad nature. Someone doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to do a job well provide they work hard as I tell my Lazy but reasonably bright daughter. Well it got me thinking and i looked into it in a lot more detail on the interweb. It appears a lot of countrys inluding Britain, US, Japan and of course Germany as well as plenty of others in the first half of the 20th experimented with Eugenetics; or selective human breeding. For instance, the US sterilized over 70000 mentally ill patients to prevent it being passed on to others and it was only outlawed in 83 with the last being carried out in 78. They had to! It would have meant the erradication of the whole nation.........otherwise known as genocide. some decisions should not be made in some cases methinks! If your from a differnet ethnicency you will be completely fine and uneffected. For instance it could be be dropped over britian, and be designed to kill pakistani's but not effect the people of english french or even afgani origin. The research is the same as which is hoped to cure cancer. So whats your opinion, should the technology be designed? This, in the wrong hands could wipe out an entire group and could be manipulated to effect only those who have mental illness or only from iraq or whatever. On the other side it could save millions from cancer. One the technolgy is out there, it cant be reversed and its only a matter of time before it lands in the wrong hands, surely.
