davyt63 1,845
hi every one after doing a lot of running around organizing work for tomorrow,i thought i deserved an afternoon hours break! so gave chaz a ring but he couldn't make it till 6:30pm so agreed to meet him then! as i drove into the permission there were bunny's out in the front field, and as i passed the front garden there was two grazing the lawn,so pulled up and got me hands on me AAS410K .177 just about to poke it out of the window and they both vanished i then turned the van around and got me kit all set up and was facing the front lawn. i waited here for a good 45 minutes to see if they would return but to no avail! but as i was sat there! i spotted 4 magpies having a tare up in the garden.then they went to the back of the house,so the stalk was on out of the van i went to the west side of the house and through a integral corridor and there is a glazed door at the end of the corridor, which is handy as it is a good advantage point! so a slow movement of the door handle, but as i pull it to me a slight creek! was let out by the old hinges and two Maggie's flew off.but two stayed on the ground,up came the AAS410K .177 cross hairs was following them both as they danced lol then one became very still which seemed for ages but was only a few seconds locked on THWACK! it just flopped forward and its dancing partner flew off.that was its last dance! lol where it fell where it was shot from i ranged it from where it fell, back to the door it was 40yds but what did surprise me was its dancing partner didn't make a cackle or any thing must of frightened the be-Jesus out of it lol. after this i went round to the front of the property, where i haven't seen much activity for a while as its over grown.but thought i would have a wander! as i was entering this over grown jungle, i see movement about 25yds away and there was 3 Bunny's going from left to right. but i made to much noise as i crept & cut through but made a good passage for my next visit here! by this time i met up with chaz and i gave him a radio i went in to the front field and chaz went to the back of the house, where i had seen 6 bunny's earlier i got set up at my telegraph pole and i had borrowed Charlie's NV monocular from aldi ( bargain!!) just to see how it performed and it done its job after about 40 minutes i had a quick look around with it, and spotted a bunny ' 65yds so another crawl was in order! and of i went stopping every 5 paces. i got within 37yds rested up for a bit to get my breathing under control, a quick flick of me lamp and THWACK!!! not a twitch! straight over it went where it fell and another for phantom after this shot i went east of the field, where there is a lot of activity. but only got one shot of and missed that one,and have to apologize to chaz for calling him on the radio.as he was just taking a shot! and guess what! well sorry buddy. but all in all a very nice afternoon/evening was had group photo had to get out these next couple of night now as the week end looks grim apparently! happy hunting davy Quote Link to post
