davyt63 1,845
hi every one Chas & i went out to hanney, oxfordshire.Thursday to see what was about. i took the AAS410K .177 and Chas took his Falcon Lighthunter .177 well when we pulled in to the paddocks there was not much going on ,so we had a cuppa and a look through the bino's.we spotted movement to our right in the fence line other side of our permission cant shoot there! so we watched for a while and a bunny came out and across the paddock, we watched where it went and made a reference. as we were sat doing a recky,a wood pigeon landed in a tree where the bunny came out earlier we ranged it at 52yds, so done my calculation on my rbc.and the target at that distance was 1.5 mil dot under the cross hairs,as we had a wind i gave it 1 mil dot windage to the right.there was some tape tied to the fence which i used as a wind indicator, so i could keep my eye on it when it dropped.cross hairs locked on watching wind 1.5 under THWACK!! dropped straight down i didn't have the scopecam on as i wasn't confident enough to take live! quarry just yet. but we got set up and both went are different directions,i put the scopecam on and had a bit of fun as it was pretty quiet! but did not record any as the battery was going on it.so by this time we were both ready for a cuppa, after are cuppa chaz went north i went east.it wasn't long before chaz was on the radio letting me know that the Lighthunter had its first kill my reply was "OH! WHATS OCCURRING! WELL DONE" and then entered in to the small woods, where we spotted the squizzer earlier, it was funny really it was about 150yds away and every time it brought food up to its mouth, we could see its white belly big give away for us! and the B.O.P a Red Kite luck would have it, it didn't stay around for long!as i entered the woods i see a bunny @ 65yds and went for the stalk, but this place is hard to stalk in. because of all the twigs on the floor and dense branches.any way I'm up for a challenge! so of i set as i got about 15/20yds i spotted the squizzer that was flashing its belly at us earlier. i froze and waited then it popped out right in front of me @ about 10/12yds i raised the AAS410 matrix slowly and had it on 1.5 mil dot over I'm sure as this happened so fast if you can understand that ,what we me having to move matrix slowly THWACK!! over it went & the rest was nerves where it fell as i got to the top of the woods i knew there was some holes up here so got me self set up for about an hour, but nothing so went up and took some pics for ya all this pic looks like it has a face in the center lol this was looking back where i came from as i came out of the woods and went west along the boundaries, i came along what me tinks this is its drey.but know one home ( i wonder why! ) i then continued along the fence line, and see another bunny running along the ditch, but was too fast for me and just carried on really slow and i mean slower than matrix slow as i got half down the fence 2 bunnies as fast as you like ,came running out. one clocked me as i froze and went straight back down .like me the other froze, now it was game on who is gunna give them selfs away by movement,so i had a move off! with a bunny now! and this!! was so sssllloooooooooowwwwwww!!!!! THWACK!! I WON! this also was another close shot! too where it fell as i got closer i noticed what a good shot i was graphic shot AAS410K .177 & BAG Falcon Lighthunter .177 & BAG it was a good day out,and had a lot of fun! HAPPY NEW YEAR happy hunting davy Quote Link to post
