Ferreting today

Went out today for an hour,under strict instructions from the good lady to be back for 11.00am so we can go xmas shopping,O the joy ,Took my dad and made sure he DID NOT have his mobile phone with him gets up to the farm and set of for the warren we was going to do.On the way i noticed my dad had his flask and was holding it very tight and close to him.Strange i thought he normally leaves it in the car.So got to the warren set the long net up,turns round and my dad is drinking out of his flask, and a few purses nets,only a 12 holer but it was under a bramble patch.I said to me dad "we will have a cup of tea,and let things settle for a bit"I said "can i have a drink out of your flask as i have left mine in the car" He said "no i will fetch yours"i was thinking whats he up to.So anyway he comes back with my flask,quick drink and ferrets entered,I was one side of the fence watching the purse nets my dad was the otherside watching the longnet,10 mins later and nothing i looked up to my dad who was again having a drink from his flask,suddenly a rabbit bolts,and fly into the longnet,my dad springs into action after carefully putting his cup down.He dipatched it and sort the net out and picked his cup up again,just as 2 rabbits bolted and hit the longnet .So dispatched both and re set the net.The ferrets kept showing by now so i knew the waren was empty.Packed the gear up and headed back to the car,by this time my dad was rather jolly and a bit red faced,on the way back to the car he found some bluestalks,which he got exited about .Then we saw a rabbit drop into a one holer,so purse net on ferret in and a quick rabbit was had.All this time my dad was drinking out of his flask.Gets to the car and said to my dad"go and gut the rabbits"while he was gone i had a drink out of his flask feck me it was pure whiskey with a hint of tea .No wonder he did not want to share the crafty sod he comes back he is singing by this time with a red face .Went round to see them in the afternoon and my mum said"you must have worked him hard,HE fell asleep as soon as he sat down I wonder why .
