chartpolski V LDR.

LDR and I were going to run our 3rd round heat within the next couple of weeks, but I will now have to postpone for a week or two more. Went out local last night for a shine; the night started well enough; a fox and two rabbits, then disaster !! A nasty rip in Deltas front leg ! Well, flushed it well out with medical alcohol, packed it with Manuka Honey and seven staples later it looked like this;

Luckily there was no muscle damage, so the staples should be out in about ten days, maybe another two weeks to heal completly, then we can have our heat. I can't realy complain, this is the 1st real injury in four years, and it's not to bad.

Cheers.

We were just saying she has never had an injury, in our recent conversation CP,- should have kept our gobs shut.

It does not look too bad as you say. What was it on , any idea. Wire ?

Hope she is up and about soon.

No idea how she did it, Gin. She's such a stoic dog she never complains or shows pain. I'm just glad it was a quick look out local, and when I got home, I checked her out, as usual, and saw the cut. She would have kept running all night, if she could have. Anyhow, it isn't to serious, so she will be back at 'em shortly !!

Hope it heals well and fast for you mate.

Cheers mate; she's not limping and not even licking it, but I'm keeping a close eye on her ! She should be O K in a week or two, problem is, she has just come out of season, and I was starting to get her fit for the heat, and this has put her back a week or two. Never mind; all part of owning running dogs !!

Cheers.

Good for you CP. Just goes to show how important it is to check the dog over immediately after every outing. Far to many people stick it back in the kennel without even a second glance.

I hope she makes a great recovery, and that's nice neat job on the repair.

Thats something CP always does and so do i for that matter, i've been out lamping with CP on many occasions on our return, one of us always washes the dogs feet and checks them over while the other one gets the beers :thumbs:

in 12 days !!!

Delta had the staples removed on wednesday,and there is barely a scar !! I cleaned the wound with alcohol wipes and rubbed in Germalene daily, there is no redness or swelling, so now to get her fit for the heat against LDR. We will run as soon as possible on a date suitable to both of us.

Cheers.
