Suzuki SJ

Had an sj410 van years ago, great little 4x4, went anywhere, great for pulling logs out of the woods and great fun in the snow.Head gasket went on it in the end though.Parts are dirt cheap and plentiful as there are loads of online specialists.

Head gaskets . If one goes or you start to" lose " coolant stop and get it sorted immediatly . Get the head skimmed before you put it back together or it will probably blow again in the same place after a few months .Probably only cost you £15-£20 foer a skim . Use 50% anti-freeze to keep head and waterway corrosion down .

They tend to be cramped ,crude, noisy, thirsty, rusty little buggers but most people who've owned an Sj end up loving em ! :D

Will go anywhere and beat a Defender through most things (just not deep, thick mud) only thing we found was that they were bloody uncomfortable off road, there's just no give in the seats.

Now using a Daihatzu Sporttrak, almost as good off road but a damn site comfier! Also very cheap on insurance.

sj's are very capable machines and should go any were your hunting takes you, cheap, but very uncomfortable and like a drink i would save your pennys and get the updated version the jimny, they are more comfortable but will tackle any terrain as a good as an sj and are a very reliable so will save you in the long run.

After getting rid of my SJ i have just got a really low mileage good condition daihatsu sportrack very comfortable but has not been really tested off road yet as it is still pretty dry up here seems like a nice motor i like the way the seats fold away to make it like a van in the back.
