J Darcy 5,871
A book i have read over and over again is a true account of the life and times of Jim Corbett the well known hunter of maneating tigers in india. His book the man-eaters of kumaon and corbetts india are i found a rivetting and intresting read.atvb dell I will second that. I have read most of his works and that man was not only an ace hunter but also an ace writer too. I can recommend the Jim Corbett "omnibus" thingy, a bit of each book in there. It will give a taste of what his books are all about. Very cheap on eBay i should think.......JD

I have a fasination with Tigers...they become man eaters because it is easy prey.... Yes but one of the worst maneaters happend to be a tigress so its probably true that the female of the species is more deadlier than the male atvb Female's being worse..... na i don't believe that female just has more spice to her happy to show true colours Yeah! Female's have strength of character....and a need to feed an protect their young.. i would say......... a Tigress is far more dangerous...

ghostlyease 17
James Clevells - Shogun. What a book. Must agree - very good, big fat read that one. Cripes, haven't thought of that book in years. Ghostly is it only books on hunting you're into? One of the most gripping, interesting and consuming books I ever read was Roots. Absolutely astounding. I wouldnt say only hunting, but hoped there would be a few good suggestions on here on that subject. Am open to all suggestions, may open up a whole new interest! Thanks for the suggestions so far! lurchergrrl 1,441
Well then if you fancy a deep, thought provoking read that really immerses you, try to get your hands on a copy of Roots. In a totally different vein, Stephen King wrote a book called The Stand - very very good. Also a big, fat read with excellent characters and he wrote it before he got really weird
