  1. Dress smart, if you have insurance from CA, BASC, or similar take a copy to show people and have some printed permission slips ready to hand so you can get a signature straight away if people agree to it. Ug
  2. [/quote name=runforyourlife' timestamp='1285761624' post='1732261] It might be scathing pal, but its true. And has been a known fact in not only the lurcher world but the dog world in general... Milo, take it out again, on its own pal, what have you to lose. take it were there is a public footpath and sheep, and it isnt your permission. you may end up paying for a sheep, so what. Or you may end wondering why she did that to the other sheep, and she isnt doing it now. Just give it a try pal... You are right, it is true. It is the same for horses unfortunately. I think it is a
  3. Looks like we have another budding romance in the offing...
  4. not in that case! Fair one. Although I notice that you haven't supplied a photo yet?
  5. WEll done milo, a tough decision but I'm glad you are doing the right thing. Best to get it over with and move on.
  6. Thats a pretty scathing comment ribb. You must know a lot of dishonest people. Such a shame that there are people out there who will sell on a dog with known faults. Surely there is only one option is this case? I once bought an adult dog from an unknown source. It was a massive mistake and not something I will ever repeat. Now I would only buy from people I know/know of (ie friends of friends). Honesty is a rare commodity these days it seems...
  7. Thats the problem with chat/text I find, it is difficult to convey sarcasm and humour accurately. Marseille in the south of France is pretty nasty in places as well. Medicine Hat in Alberta can get quite rough at times as well. It was Hells Angels weekend last month, and the whole town was put out of bounds. Medicine Hat Citiy Police are allowed to use 1 level of force higher than they are attacked with (ie if you try to punch them they will taser you, come at them with a broken bottle/knife and they shoot). I expect most armed European police forces are similar. Have you done much h
  8. Don't you know Gem, patience is a virtue...
  9. Sorry to heat that milo, but permission so difficult to gain is very easily lost. It is a hard decision to make, but you are doing the right thing. Hope you have a good season with the other two. Ug
  10. You are not wrong there. Last time I was in Newcastle, I had some 40+ lass in her daughter's dress start slapping my face (before moving onto punches to the body) because I said the wrong thing. Mind, she was a squaddies ex-wife so she probs was used to pushing blokes about.
  11. There is a requirement to dress up in Italy. I was in Rome on holiday a couple of years ago and stuck out like a sore thumb in my jeans and checked shirts. Strangest thing I saw was an Italian man wearing a pashmina. The women seem to love the whole Italian thing though, so I wouldn't really worry about it Borat. I'm sure you will be beating them off with a shitty stick soon enough. Just hope you aren't as offensive to their faces as on the internet. That kind of thing will get you a stilleto heel in the back of the head in Newcastle. Ug
  12. Ive found the acid tan method works quite well with rabbit and fox skins. can't see any reason why it wouldnt work with mink. http://www.ssrsi.org/Onsite/bunny.htm all you need is some battery acid and some table salt. cheers Ug
  13. I think its a cracking idea. Especially if its free. Like the share a hunt with a single idea. This is me with my pup, before she went missing. cleo.bmp Little bit late for me, as I met my girlfriend through muddymatches.com. its the same sort of idea, but you have to pay for it. cheers Ug
  14. who is the woman is all your avatars archie? it seems to be the same one every time.
  15. Im gonna be in Alberta (near Suffield) for work during October. I am planning on having a week of leave in country at the end of the month/start of November. I have often read with interest the stories of people hunting coyotes, wolves, bears and mountain lions with rifles or hound packs. Is there anyone in the area who would let me accompany them on a hunt? Alternatively, could someone point me in the direction of a good outfitter in the area? I am more than willing to travel by aeroplane if need be. I will happily return the favour with an invite to Germany once I get settled and comple
  16. Im gonna be in Alberta for work for the whole of October. I plan on having a weeks leave at the end and was hoping to do some kind of hunting in the Northern USA during that week. I have read the coyote hunting topics with interest, as well as the lads who write about hound hunts for cougar and bear. Is there anyone who would be willing to let me tag along? Alternatively, can anyone point me in the direction of a good outfitter? I will be sure to return the favour in future once I get settled in Germany (after I complete my Jagerschien licence exams). Thanks very much, Ug

  18. Cleo is still missing. any info please let me know. Cheers Ug
  19. Thanks very much for all the replies lads. Im away with work for the next month (on a plane in about 2 hours) but will look up the posted contacts when I get back in September. Thanks again for the info, really helpful. cheers Ug
  20. Glad to hear your getting better and healing well. I dont remember the 80s Im afraid. My first proper memories are of watching the Gulf War on the news in 1991. cheers Ug
  21. Im not really old enough to remember Margret Thatcher to be honest... I do admire the attitude she showed when facing the Falklands invaision and the Iranian Embassy Siege. I think the politicians of today would be far too scared of offending someone to robustly respond to these situations like she did. Hows your ankle healing? Ug
  22. Thanks for the info erik. Im into shooting and stalking as well, so I think it will be worth it. I have all the necessary locating equipment, but as I was saying to Panna, Im lacking a dog at the moment. If you ever need a hand with a shovel, or are generous to let me come watch your dogs work, I would enjoy that very much. cheers Ug
  23. Cheers for the reply erik. Thanks for the bump panna. I'm in Lower Saxony near Gutersloh. I intend on getting my German hunting licence (Jagdschein) as soon as possible. The only problem I have at the minute is I dont have a dog as my terrier died a few weeks before I left UK. I havent been able to replace her yet as work is busy, and I dont have as much time as I would like to spend on a dog. I have all the locator equipment but lacking that key ingredient. It is a shame that the Germans don't dig. Do you know of any local digging clubs I could join where I could watch other people's
  24. No worries mate. So do you consider yourself Irish, Scottish or British? I was born in Northern England. However, as far as families go, I haven't got a clue where mine come from originally. My mother is from Northern England as well, but I have only ever met one of my grandparents. Not that it bothers me. I hold a British passport, and have always considered myself as British. Nothing wrong with being a cynic. I'm told I'm pretty cynical myself. When I say Im conservative, I mean that Im slightly right of centre, rather than a fan of David Cameron. I'll agree with you there abo
  25. cheers undisputed. Ill be sure to post lots of topics on how the hunting is in NZ. Your comment on becomeing a Maori is not lost on me. Indigineous people in New Zealand are a minority as they have been surpassed by the more populous and technologically superior whites, mainly from Europe. Things for them are not as bad as they were by they are not perfect by any means. I will learn a good deal more about maori culture before I land and during my time in country. However, Maori is not the only, or even the prevalent culture in New Zealand now. I would say that the culture is mainly whi
