i have a very small bull greyhound it was very runnty when young its very slow to mature also its 20.5 to the shoulder and thrown quite bully shes finally puttin on weight now and is just 40lb .as shes so small people think she is a young pup or a whippet x but shes just a tiny bullxgreyhound. at 20.5 tts and 16 month old dont think shes gettin any taller either lol.
-
yes mathematically thats correct but they could throw to the bull or the grey still.i bred some guard dogs years ago in the early 90s the sire was a 3/4 bull 1/4 bull mastiff and the dam a 3/4 bull mastiff 1/4 bull the entire litter were level all threw to the size ,height of the mastiff but had the look of a bull in the face very fit giant bulls . but the the same bull mastiff was in both dogs so i dont know if this factor helped level the litter or not i presume so.

hello lads ive just been out 2 days ago with a lad of here who has a 3/4 reverse and have always thought there was only one quarry they would be able to catch and also be extremly slow,i was invited out by a guy to see his 2 year old dog work its a lump of a dog at around 24-25 tts short coupled and around 85lb head like a bucket and shoulders like tyson. I was very suprised this dog was extremly fast and was bringing back rabbits alive to hand clearing 5 bar fences easily his turning wasnt the best but it wasnt the worst either he was a very good dog on the lamp,it was strange to see such a

ive no camera at the momment let the kids borrow it in my wisdom it is now destroyed ill get some pics up asap
-
hes looking great dep nice height too,as they were closely bred think they all turned out fairly small monkey is 21 just ! her sister is 22.5 good luck with the season .. ill get some pics of monkey when i get a camera lol .ill give you a bell soon as im up by you for a few weeks mate
-
she may be but definatly not at the momment,if anything shes to soft mouthed (not getting a firm enough grip and having to re catch them) the sire to her was a good heavey quarry dog(pre ban )he would kill foxes but bring rabbitts back alive i know this will be doubted by some but its the truth if you wanted (after 1st couple of rabbits they were bit hard useally)you could let them go and they would run off again.
-
well those of you who know me or have seen some of my posts, monkey my bull/ grey may have finally started behaving like a lurcher at last. the last few times took her out shes been catchin well had a couple of decent runs and really wants the rabbits now shes using her head also ,started jumping only when she has to mind she usally finds a way through recall is good retrive needs some working on . shes now finished on a winning note until september time i reckon ,all things going to plan she should be working well by the new season(hopfully)

when it does exactly what you want it for, time and time again and you have no complaints about the dog .

Just picturing your dog stalking, you might be working it off the lead or giving it long slips hence the dog getting chance to stalk! Try walking onto the rabbit if the dog goes into stalking mode on the lead pull him forward keep walking when the rabbit leaves the seat give it a few meters head start then slip ya dog. your dog wont get chance to stalk this way and should soon drop the habbit of stalking. Try just lamping with it for a month or two this allows you to get a bit closer to quarry, if it hasnt been over lamped. Keep it on the lead then your in control, if your in control he wont b

Try short slips for awhile ive tried everything mate ,had her litterally stoood over a rabbit shaking and waits and waits for it to bolt before striking, mid field rabbits instead of running at them she will creep 200 yards a couple of inches at a time and sit there until it moves its infurating shes caught about 5-6 rabbits and retrieved to hand ,but she has only ever got into 5th gear one night out with a lad of here, the rest of the time you can see shes not really intrested im hoping its a phase but im very dubious at the momment ,hopfully a rest will do her good and renew her prey driv
