My very good friend shows & is a qualified judge for kc bulldogs. I also know another lad who is similar. They both have 1st class, professionally built kennels. Very nice houses, all paid for. 2g a pup & whatever litters a yr & i'm sure i would be as well off. Soon as them bitches have been made full use of,too old or had too many sections, they take pride in saying that they are giving a bitch away FREE. All i used to hear was the size of bone & head,on a pup which was not even 2 week old. Fantastic pup etc etc. They can tell a ch before their eyes are fcukin open. These lads

i agree with everything you said in a working dog world ,but what do you think of people who breed an expensive type of dog as a cottage industry not bred everytime its in season ,but bred for money but housed ,loved and genrally looked after well in a methodical breeding program they keep the odd exemplary pup but sell the rest for a very good profit ...

my friend has profesionally built kennells and they open on to a field there all excercised once a day and the working dogs he has are really worked ,but and this is a big but if those dogs he breeds as a cottage industry (bulldogs)wernt worth as much would he bother the answer is NO but does it make him a peddler ,? As hes providing the same service a farmer does with show cherolis bulls or show chickens they both give the animals a good standard of life and make money out of there hobby .

excellent reply i also think its the type of dogs too,for instance lurcher/running dogs are in my opinon very cheap even for a "internet super dog" your only talking a couple hundred pound tops ,its very easy to neglect somthing that has not much monatery worth (for some people) if it was a £1500 bulldog it limits the type of person who wants to buy it i.e either a breeder, showman or a loving pet owner who after shelling out £1500 will more than likely treat it like a king. Now im not saying lurcher owners are bad just near on anyone can afford one shove it in a kennel breed it to death of

As we know this is a hunting forum and dogs do get bred I somtimes watch this forum and I watch people jumping all over the thread with there self rightous shouts of hes a "puppy pedlar" scum hes a "dog dealer" Where do all us hunters get are new dogs from ,do we breed them are selves ,if so are we then puppy pedlars ,do we buy them in , go and buy a nice pup well looked after and brought on ,does that make the man you bought it of a peddler, A good friend of mine breeds bulldogs hes got an idea of having a fitter type and breeds fairley regular he has a few brood bitches and a high quali

so i think my friend the answer to your question his a wheaton terrier is not the house dog your looking for atb when i said a house dog i didnt mean i was going to keep it in the house with cuddley toys brushing his coat spending quality cuddle time by the fire , if i have a house dog its a dog that cant be in the kennels with the other dogs and will double up as a gaurd/companion but will be worked also ,ive kept pure bulls this way they were great insde anyway im transgressing ....ive decided if i have a wheaton after everyones comments it wont be a pure one as i couldnt justify its us
-
in the short then it is a game dog whith a good hunting instinct build of a heavy bull and mixs with other dogs but wont back down and if threatened attacks ,but is very steady with people . a friend of mine bred a wheaton x grey to a bullx and rates it exceptional well . As i said i want a dog as a house dog but can be used for working with terriers and lurchers also.

I started breaking my bullx to ferrets at about 12 month she saw them once every week when i was handeling them and i chastised her for going for them was a bit worried when 1st took her ferriting but she mouthed the ferret and i gave her a clip round the ear shes ok with them now .

I found with the pure bulls they were overtly aggressive to anything that wasnt human, and with the firmist of hands the part was uncontrollable which meant i was never at ease taking them anywere one of em even jumped out of a moving car to get at a cpuople of german shepards . but the bullxs i have and all of the ones my friends have are absoultly fine with other dogs, which is what i need as i have no time for an aggressive dog ,its fine if he stands his ground as theres always a pecking order in any pack ,all the wheaton xs ive heard of are fine and work in packs too.

ive owned a few bulls over the yearts pits and staffs and the only bad problem was there desire to kill other dogs ,never got a warning just when the dog was within range was attacked ,could never even introduce them to another dog it wasnt happining after my old staff died ,i always wanted a house dog like him again but even till his death of old age he would still try to attack another dog on sight brilliant with kids and people had a ingrained hatred of any other animals though. I can have one of his line at anytime for free or a pit for free ,but due to the aggresion factor and the fact t
