  1. I'd love an NV, but they're just too damn expensive!
  2. It's personal mate. I like HW's, that's why I have one.....You pays your money..........
  3. I think you get more shots per fill in .22, although I'm not entirely sure
  4. My mate's just done his DSC1, and he said that in Scotland some of the estates want a minimum of .270, and some want a minimum of 30-06 for reds . This seems a little over-the-top to me .
  5. HOW MUCH?????? You could get a brand new T3 for just over £500
  6. I'm suprised you don't think it would be approved for boar. I would think it would do the job without any difficulty. I don't know the rules on boar though as we have none here (wish we did).
  7. A moderator isn't a requirement, but it stops you getting too many complaints from people living locally to where you are shooting, especially at night.
  8. Well SS06, I hope you get your conditions removed and your ticket opened as soon as possible mate. ATB, James
  9. WHAT THE IS THAT? Surely they can't place you under supervision???? Yes they can..it's actually quite common now! It's like being back at school .
  10. WHAT THE IS THAT? Surely they can't place you under supervision????
  11. I have never seen a "closed" certificate, as mine was open from application, so I'm not sure on this one.
  12. Looks like this dude's been banned, so I guess the topic's finished-with?
  13. I'm not used to that being from elsewhere (mod on another site). I've never known anyone to get abuse for a "clean kill" of a pest species. Does this happen a lot?
  14. Sounds good to me. You've got a good fox round, and a good deer round without the need to re-zero when you swap over.
  15. Sorry to be picky, but in one breath you say the Anschutz is the best HMR, and in another you pick holes in it saying you're not happy with the mag, stock or price?????? The HW has great accuracy, a great trigger and a beautiful stock. .......oh and it's cheaper too...
  16. Where do you buy your beer?? You should get the kit for about twelve quid . Stick with the .22 for range up to 100yds so you can stay in "stealth mode". HMRs are good but noisey. CZ are very good, but if your budget is only for the gun, not the whole set-up, get a HW 60 J. You definately won't need a trigger kit for one of those. Possibly the best .17HMR on the market. I hate to say it, but german engineering takes some beating.
  17. I have a HW95 in .22. I bought it as my first rifle brand new, and doubt that I will ever sell it. It is a great air rifle, and cost £300 with scope, silencer and case. I would recomend them to anyone. Mine has taken many bunnies, but now gets used more for birds since I progressed to .22lr.
  18. I regularly take shots around 100-120yds but not often more than that,as I find there is no need to if you are quiet. As to the effective range of the gun, this is not really a factor, as over about 150yds working out the bullet drop can cause a problem. I do know a guy who has taken a rabbit at over 200yds with a .22lr, but he is the exception to the rule. The best thing to do is zero at 60yds, and work out your hold-over at 100. Then just get some practice in. Best of luck.
