Putting a 17 year auld piss head or junkie on ranges.Or asking someone to supervise the clowns. Just spells disaster to me. I've supervised plenty of piss heads and junkies in regular forces. One developed mental psychosis and we ended up putting him in the Priory at HMs expense. They're ain't many junkies in the army.

It was always like that anyways.Uni kids and rich never done national service. 95% of Sandhurst entrants are graduates. Junior officers (2Lt - Capt) are proportionally overly represented in the casualty statistics of all modern conflicts. Yes I know this mate. But if you didn't wasn't to go you were exempt if you had money rich uni kid or a minner.

Yeah but then what's the point you will just have regiments that are a waste of time and space. Of course it's going to be funded who's going to pay for the training costs and funding for these regiments? Your are talking maybe 250000 more a year? The training staff and resources needed to start national service would make it a complete waste of time. You said it'd f**k our professional military, I was simply pointing out that it wouldn't if the funding came from a separate pot. The point behind it would not be to benefit the tactical goals of the miltary but to benefit society more

It's a I think knife crime and gun crime levels have reduced incredibly in the last 20 or 30 years. When you look at cities like Glasgow with gangs and running battles everyday for year and years. It's just a lot more publicised now compared to 20 years ago.

Not really when you look at the percentage of people that fail selection then jack it in. That's people that want to be there lol Imagine the idiots that don't want be there and have no interest what's so ever in been a soldier I'd only give benefits and certain rights to people who passed it,free health care and the right to be housed, child benefit etc. would also be a good selection for the army, only accept the better ones as regulars and it would be a much fairer way of finding out who'd make good officers too. I don't know when you left the forces mate but times have changed. It's

Fully agree.. Whilst it pains some folk to think of lazy, no good for nothing feckers, having an easy time,..cashing in off the State and generaly seeming to live, a life of ease,...and the easy solution would appear to be ,"Get em into the Army, knock some fecking sence into em".,.kinda thing.. In reality (in peace time)...it would be a complete and utter waste of fecking time.. I well remember in my youth,...loads of us going along to the Army recruitment centre, and looking at all the jobs that were on offer. For some of my mates it was a chance of a carreer,..and a way out

No. You will end up with army that doesn't want too be there and are weak and a waste of money resources and space.

More than likely the will drop Sturridge and sterling who have played brilliant all season. Play Ronney who has been pish all season for club.

Bruce was offered a cap for the ROI by Jack Charlton because he qualified due to his mum but he turned it down because of the rules to do with foreign players at club level. Looked it up earlier! They have played players out of position for aslong as I can remember. If the player isn't good enough to make the grade in his club position he should go on the bench not get played on the wing or on the left. Don't understand why they done this for years. No manager had the balls to drop Gerard or lampard they both play in same postion ffs. Hesky 62 caps ffs what a joke useless fooker.

So young folks should leave the country in search of a house to buy in cash.... Is that what you're saying? You did, well done, but for the majority that's not an option or desire. So a mortgage makes financial sense. Which was my point. I hate banks and I hate mortgages. all this buy now pay later culture fooked the country up in the long run. Now everyone is crippled cause of it. Wages have stayed the same for 10 years earning less on basic wages as fook all overtime and inflation is through the fooking roof. All trying to pay back these bankers fook ups. Does my head in

I bought a house for 94k in 2008 to live in and put 10% down on it. In 2011 the same houses were selling for 50-60k. I lived in an army pad for nearly 5 years letting the house out. Left the army and still have it rented out. Thats what im saying I was very very lucky I was in the army with steady job and low rent or I would have walked away from the house and took the hit. In 20 years you'll have a different opinion I bet. I'm still struggling to get my head around your figures but whatever. In 20 years you will have spent little if anything more than you would have done on a rental p

I wish you the best butAre you going to be saying the same thing when interest rates rise and house prices fall ..... What a strange thing to say.If you've never had a mortgage then you will never know how good it feels to know that what you've got around you is yours. I rented from the age of 17-23 and it is dog shit. Wasted money living by someone else's rules. Asking for permission to paint a wall Even if house prices fall over the next few years then there is no way that in 25 years when my mortgage is paid off I will be worse off than if I had rented. Why is it a strange thing to say

Im not saying its a quick profit. But its not a money spinner either. If you buy a house for 100k over 30 years paying £500 a month. it will mean repayment of 180k roughly over the loan peoid. Plus maintenace and what ever other monthly shite you get roped into. Lose job cant afford payment ect ect. pay £350 for council house next door stress free? Im not saying its a bad idea all im saying is dont get caught up with the buying and shite hype on tv as its not always a bed of roses.

If you've paid 40k in 5 years on a 90k loan you're being done mate, or it's a short term mortgage. My sons paying less than 4k on a 70k loan over 30 years. Thats at lthe very least 1k less than the same house would cost to rent each year so even if rents stayed the same for 30 years and the house didn't increase in value he would be 30 grand plus the value of the house better off by buying. do you think I dont relise that. That is the point some people on this topic are trying to make. Thats the differnce a couple % rise in a mortgage makes it criples people. Bought house in 200
