  1. 22ft lb. I take it this is .177 then?
  2. Me and my mate had 155 woodies on wheat stubble yesterday. Two weeks ago on the same farm on the rape stubble we had 450! We actually ran out of shells. Who would have thought 800 shells wouldn't have been enough :)
  3. If you are close enough I will have them. Where are you?
  4. How are you getting on with this? As said, use the situation to your advantage, which goes for any situation you face. Ambush them from cover where they can't scent you. If there is no cover you can set up a small bit of camo net set low to hide you. Good luck and have fun.
  5. I have seen some of his videos. He is very good.
  6. Good luck on Saturday. As long as you have a reasonably clean history the shotgun application process is very simple.
  7. It can be done with an air rifle. I have done it many times. Your field craft will need to be good. Location of hide, camo and decoy set up will need to be spot on. Though a shotgun is a lot more effective and will get you much bigger bags. Make sure you know the laws concerning shooting near roads and footpaths. Most of all, enjoy the shooting.
  8. I have been in the butts at the far end of ranges. The crack of the Bullet going overhead gives no indication of the direction it came from. The thump that follows a second or so later which is the sound of the muzzle blast reaching you does.
  9. Leslie, I like your advice and you helpful attitude. Thank you buddy.
  10. All this is starting to get me interested in wildfowling. Been talking to KWCA. Looks like I'll be joining
  11. Holy #@!! I thought wildfowling was about small bags. Looks like you had a proper fun day there
  12. Oh, another question. Can you use dead geese as decoys like pigeons? If so how do you set them up?
  13. Thanks for that. Observation is always the key eh.
  14. Hi Guys, As title could do with some advice. Me and my shooting buddy have been asked to clear some Canada geese that are being a problem. We normally shoot pigeons, crows, etc so don't know a lot about geese. They are using a body of water and creating a lot of mess in areas used by people. Though this area is private not public. I know we can't use lead and the general license terms. What is the best time of day and tactics to get to them?
  15. If you can stretch the budget to a couple of lofting decoys this would really help with air rifle shooting. Place them so they are visible, about two thirds of the way up a sitty tree if possible, then tuck yourself away in a good well hidden shooting position.
  16. Those diagrams in the link are good, though I will say I was always taught to leave a gap at the front of the pattern. This is so the pigeons have an escape route if needed which gives them more confidence to come in.
  17. I use .177 for two reasons. 1, the flatter trajectory is a little more forgiving if you are a few yards out on the range estimation. 2, the pellet gets to the target that little bit quicker giving it less chance of flinching out of the way.
  18. Hi everyone, I just recently found this forum, it's awesome can't believe I didn't find it earlier. Myself, I shoot mainly with shotguns and air rifles. Basic rough shooting/pest control. My favourite part of the sport by far is pigeon shooting, can never get enough of it :) Good to be here
