  6. fished a smallish pond on a local farm today, had a dozen or so carp up to 10lb,not massive but old "proper" carp that fought like tigers!
  7. no mate, this was at brandesburton near beverly.
  8. i was night fishing last night and as i set up,i noticed a lot of wasps about but thought nothing of it.when i sat down to fish,i noticed the wasps goig in and out of a hole in the bank not 2 foot from me! i moved another 3 foot away(all the swim was big enough for)and i never got stung all night or this morning when they woke up again!
  9. no,but i hear wellies are handy as you can slip the sheeps back legs inside them to stop them getting away...lol.on a serious note, i prefer wellies now but i used to hate them til i got a decent pair. i know wellies are sometimes colder than boots, and theres some high quality boots on sale nowadays, but from experiance ive seen some of my mates to step in a puddle with boots on and be soaking, and the best way to f##k a sheep is on the edge of a cliff they push back a little harder i got some neoprene muck boots, they're toasty warm and comfy as hell too.
  10. at the end of the day a 50 yr old man in a position of responsibility and trust gave a 14 yr old boy in his care "serious head injuries". i know what kids can be like but that gives him NO excuse to do what he did.if he "flipped" or "lost it" then he's (was!) obviously in the wrong job. any of you that say the lad would have deserved it etc would be saying different if it was your lad who had been put in hospital by the adult who's care he was in at the time!

  12. cheers lads. yes,it did go back!and no,it didn't smell(any more than any other fish!lol) it gave a slow, deep, powerful fight quite different to carp. i caught it on hair rigged 22mm halibut pellet over a small bed of mixed pellets. there are 60 lb'ers in this lake appaerntly .would love to have one of those!
  13. cheers mate,am chuffed to bits but f*cked, only got an hours sleep!
  14. did a night session last night and only fish out of the lake last night fell to me at 3.15 am this morning.. 20lb 3 oz cat! my first.
