    fishing rods

    still here...
  2. jsut googled pics of both types of trout... i still think it looks more like a sea trout than a brown. (top pic is brown, bottom sea)the trout i caught had the pinky spots as seen on the sea trout pic.
  3. they weren't all black mate, more a kind of pinky purple..this is a better pic(our lass is holding it) RAINBOWS HAVE THE COLOURS KIND OF LIKE A RAINBOW HENCE THE NAME really?? so is a brown trout all brown?! i know now its not a rainbow now but it doesn't look like a brown trout to me either which is why i asked... either way,it was tasty!
  4. they weren't all black mate, more a kind of pinky purple..this is a better pic(our lass is holding it)
  5. i got told by someone that it's a sea trout.... also, the bloke who owns the tackle shop said that sea trout do occasionally make there way up to this part of the river....
  6. just had this little fells sat on the door casing of the shed and rather obligingly didn't mind me taking pics of him from a few inches away!even the mrs even liked it and she's normally terrified of anything remotely "flappy or fluttery"!! only about 1.5 inch or so wingspan.

  9. i saw this when it was on tv a while ago.... ask yourself WHY would anyone skin something alive?it certainly would be a lot harder than doing it when its dead.... . as someone said, its a video produced by peta. the same people that talk about "live foxs being ripped to shreds by snarling blood thirsty hounds "etc.

    darcy books

and i might be interested in scooby mate depending on price.
  11. leave a collar on the dog all the time(for now)let it get used to the feeling of it round its neck. put the dog on the lead and have a treat in your other hand, let the dog know you've got it and walk slowly off.if he puts the anchors on,hold the treat close to his face and move away again.usually only takes 2 or 3 15 min sessions of this to give them the idea.
  12. Fair comment. Although the lurcher seems to be running at full speed when after quarry, so it doesn't seem like there's much of a problem to begin with! if the dogs running at full tilt when there's something furry in front of it,i can't see a problem either. (lurchers and terriers, grow a sense of humour ffs! )
  13. get it chipped(well,it works on cars.... )

  16. try "tackle trader" or join one of the carp forums like "northerncarpfishing". usually plenty of gear for sale on those.
  17. they're perfectly legal.can buy them in loads of main street shops etc. just not legal to hunt with them.
  18. cheers for comments lads.just had it,cooked in garlic and butter with new spuds and brocolli. very tasty!
  19. its for tea tonight.... (and was dead in that pic) weighed just short of 4lb. caught on a 5 inch bleak live bait. was shocked when i caught it,as i say,i've never caught or heard of one being caught in this stretch of river!
  20. what is this trout?a rainbow or brown trout? caught it today,it was a bit of a suprise, caught it livebaiting for pike in the ouse in york. fished this stretch of river for 20 yrs and never caught one before.
  21. Barny williams in the north lakes it was his ridgeback/ pit bull/grey to a three quarter pit bull/ grey Would I be right then in saying that the dog is around 1/8 Ridgeback then????? If so is that not misleading????? Should that dog not be described as a APBT cross with a dash of Ridgeback and not a straight up Ridgeback cross???? Already there's lads looking at that fine animal and saying they're going to breed from their Ridgeback bitches. and only a 1/4 greyhound too?(if it was a reverse 3/4) nice dog anyhow.
  22. in all fairness, you can pay 10/15 quid for a plastic shop bought lure.this one is much better quality and a one off.its one the lure collecters will love, get two on ebay fighting over it and i don't see why it wouldn't do 35.
