  1. Just moved to Catterick Garrison and wondered if anyone us lamping round here that wouldn't mind me tagging along? Have a greyhound but looking to get a lurcher when I know a bit more. Thanks in advance.
  2. Yeah I saw that guy, he looks awesome. Unfortunately a bit far away!
  3. I'm expecting some kind of feed back like that but the situation is that I can give one a home so may aswell offer.
  4. Hi. Just wondered if anyone was looking to rehome a working dog. Currently in a position where I could give a loving home to a dog to see his or her days out with. A friend suggested an ex keepers dog. Not sure if there's a call for rehoming dogs of this nature, but thought I'd looking into it! Would strictly be as a pet. Thanks
  5. Never seen one, but like the sound of it. Looking forward to seeing any pictures and hearing reports...
  6. Thanks for all the comments. This is what I mean Hunter... What constitutes an old fashioned lurcher and why don't they look like that now?
  7. What would be the best all rounder type of lurcher then?
  8. So one mans ideal dog could prove useless to someone else?
  9. As a newbie learning about hunting with dogs, I was wondering if some of the more experienced folk on here had noticed a change in lurchers over recent years? The archetypal broken coated lurcher, in the eyes of a relative lay person, seems to have given way to greyhound crosses. Is my perception accurate?? What's your thoughts on modern lurchers? If you could breed the ultimate lurcher, how would it be bred??
  10. Have to say, that looks unreal and the pictures are amazing! Is this common practice over there?
  11. My point exactly How the hell do you domesticate something that either runs like f**k away from you or starts trying to stomp ya head into the ground while hamstringing you I ask myself every morning when I walk into work and have 21 of them staring at me!
  12. They're that sad and bitter that everything growing above would just turn brown and die.
  13. Yeah definitely, will let you know if I can predict an early finish one day.
  14. ^Theres a legend right there. No full days off until the end of the month but will try and figure something out!
  15. Sure is Marra! A brief walk with the Claro Beagles on Saturday with myself and Venum was very enjoyable, really impressed with the hound and their amazing ability to get through very small holes in fences!! We were treated to great hospitality and beautiful scenery.
  16. Well my first taste of fishing taught me a huge amount yesterday. Number one, check the weather first as it was freezing!! Second, fly fishing is much harder than it looks. Many thanks to Hot Meat and his seven year old son who made me look totally useless! Thirdly, never take your six year old daughter who made me look even worse. Great to be out learning something with the kids though. Many thanks to Hot Meat for taking time out in sub zero conditions to give us a brief introduction to fishing. A top man who is clearly very knowledgeable.
  17. And people are moaning about fracking when these eye sores keep cropping up all over the place. Ridiculous.
  18. Great video and cracking dogs. Really enjoyed watching. Thank you!
  19. 6 and 7 bud but spend all weekend outside when I have them. We walk for miles so they'll be grand
  20. Awesome thanks a lot. Sunday lunchtime any good at all? Weather pending of course!
