Back home now. They were still spawning as we left but finally ended up with a carp on the last night, 37lb. Still beers, BBQ and around the fire pit every night......had a great week with one of my best mates.
-
Cant even begin to think what a 200lbr would be like in a river as powerful as that.
-
I've had a couple before but only up to 48lb this thing was different gravy. Never had a fight like it. I probably would target them if I had more fishing time, few places near me that have them in, but I'm into my carping again at the minute. I know someone who runs Ebro trips and I should have been going out last year but plans changed.....I will be making sure I get out there now. I can't imagine one of these 2 or 3 times as big AND in a powerful river!

I know there is a fishing section but thought this might have a general appeal. On jollies in France at a friend's pond after carp. Got here and they are all bloody spawning - for those that aren't into fishing when they are shagging for the week they aren't interested in eating at all. Then this thing took my bait. Ugly slimy thing but an absolute beast. 45minutes battle on 15lb line. Scales bottomed out at 67lb. Estimated at 100lb. Unreal and saved my holiday!!!

The first place I got mine from advised feeding sow nuts as they were high in protein, so that's what I've always done. Then on top of that we go round collecting as many apples as we can put our hands on. Lots around if you ask. Pumpkins at Halloween. Ask local veg stall for spoil etc.

Mine have never had meds or owt......only kept for a short time and no doubt will have to deal with summat eventually but been OK so far.

Picked up another HW100 a few weeks back in .177 What pellets do you all favour for these? I know it differs gun to gun and shooter to shooter. From memory my last 100 I used AA Diablo Field, so think I may start there.

Just had a read through and it seems with the ones I have I should be OK

I don't have any prior knowledge/experience with fruit trees but read it was better to have a few different varieties. Saw an 'out of town' episode with Jack hargreaves where he grafted three different types of apple onto a tree so it produced 4 different types of apple that were ready to harvest at different points in the season, some early, some mid, some late, all from one tree. I thought that was genius, something I might try in the future.

We have: Breaburn x 1 Red devil x 1 Fiesta x 2 James Grieve x 1

5 fruit trees gone in tonight. 3 apple 2 pear. That puts us to 5 apple in total. Few plum trees next is the plan.

Nice and simple, steak and eggs. Unfortunately the steak isn't homegrown......I'm not quite there yet!

Homegrown bacon and egg to start the day....

Opted for a late BBQ today, it got a bit fresh once the sun went down but it was bloody lovely. Then sat out in the dark with a glass of wine listening to the tawny owls....I am so ready for summer and doing that most nights.

Whats happened to ferret finders? Deben packed in, has no one taken it up? Is there no one at all producing ferret/terrier finders now? Also the ferret section on here is pretty quiet, is there some better sites or FB pages for ferreting in general? Cheers Ry
