  2. Any word on foxdiggers bitch and pups thing went deadly quiet on the other post
  3. If you had a seasoned terrier, hound or lurcher that can mark up along with your pup it would be a big advantage, that way you should be able to know when your pup should travel.
  4. As above willing to travel across the pond along west coast Scotland, Liverpool north Wales
  5. What would shipping cost to ireland
  6. Can't see this fella getting to that level with the ferrets but if I can get them to the stage that gaz1989 and fireman's picture show I will be happy

  8. Just so I'm clear I am not talking about entering a dog into rabbit warrens, that is taboo, I've seen a dog dig a rabbit before 5 year old pat done well up until then, dog was pts, (harsh or not you judge) that man to this day has never lived it down.
  9. Yeah my dog would be stubborn enough tbh, when he's on he is on, he understands no and leave but needs to be extremely assertive NO and LEAVE, my terrier pup isn't bothered by the ferret the but she been brought up from 7 weeks of age around it. Suppose it's one of those "can you teach an old dog New tricks?" time will tell and patience (which I'm not renowned for) give me a dog to break to sheep any day.
  10. What I was always told, but can remember when I was a nipper we had leggy Russell's could catch rabbits, had no problem digging reynard,
  11. Just a query I have, something I have always done is keep the terriers away from rabbits, but wondered if anybody that uses their terriers that go to ground on foxes, also uses the same terrier for bushing for rabbits?
  12. Ok basically I have a decent enough dog he's a bull/whippet/grey 25tts good at bunnies day and night and lifts and dispatches of Fox with relative ease, probably the best lurcher I've owned, bit light for big game but he does what I have him for bunnies and reynard, only thing is getting him broke to ferrets, how do I go about it ,as I have very little experience with ferrets we use to keep them when we were younger. Is there anything in particular to do or not do, he is fully broken to sheep horses cattle, basically anything he shouldn't be at, but when out for a day with the wee stinker, I h
  13. Take your old batteries to a jeweller they should have some, that's where I got mine £5quid each bit steep but needed them

  15. Yes leeview hob, never knew that about being slower thanks , beam as for warrens our permission does very from one holers to 20, but never anymore, every hole we take him to he digs at least once. We recently obtained permission with a farmer who want all vermin controlled, so glad to get more permission I said no problem, thing is its in a thorny ditch running 100 yards and digging in that stuff is a nightmare, about 20 holes would you double up, are Jill's less aggressive
  16. Hello, I am posting this question as I am somewhat of a rookie when it comes to ferreting. We have kept the odd ferret over the years so would still have a lot to learn. I am more terrier inclined ie digging. But a few months ago I got my hands on a lurcher who I must say impressed me straight away with his speed and sharp turns and shear heart, under the lamp he misses very few (more human error by giving him impossible slips) So I decided to get a ferret and give the bunnys a run in daylight, and was very surprised that the dog switches up another couple of gears ,in daylight there is no sto
