  2. Still haven't heard anything back from dan yet lee, emailed him yesterday
  3. Cheers lads, Getting pretty good at shooting them now as well, practising at 30ft on bullseye targets, prefer making them tho ha
  4. First time having a go at making micarta, I used red and black construction paper and resin, made this side shooter today, and also had a go at pimping my opinel knife to match. Could've done with sanding it more, but I hate sanding :-(. Hope you like it

  9. Hi lads, thought I'd start a thread on what catties people are making and shooting themselves, I'll start it off Made this ash side shooter in my dinner hour at work on Friday, treated with boiled linseed oil. Double TBG, nice and accurate Also made this natural from a chestnut fork that I found whilst out mooching, also treated with BLO Be nice to see what other people have been making....... P.S BPR, save some room for others ;-)
  10. Yeah I bought all stuff off ebay to make my own, can knock up a set of bands in no time now, and like you said it cost's very little making them yourself
  11. Good demo as always mate...... Loving the TBG at the moment :-)
  12. I've only got into making and shooting catties after stumbling across this section of the forum..... Making a catty gives you something to do in the garage whilst the weather is so shite!! Defo a great section of the forum
  13. Try swapping your shooting technique mate, a lot of people have the forks facing up, I can't shoot like that, try side shooting, basically turn the catty 90 degrees. I also pull the elastic to the same place every time I.e your ear, cheek mouth etc then find a point on your catty to use to aim at the target. Hope this helps...
  14. Being oiled with some danish oil as we speak...Then a few coats of polyurethene...Then on its way to you ...Far left is longers7 ... Your a top bloke mate, can't wait!
  15. Try not to stress yourself out to much if your missing, only makes it worse..... I'm better shooting when the clay comes over my head, shooting them on instinct rather than watching it come over, don't point and shoot, keep the gun moving through an arc even after firing, give it some lead ...... And enjoy yourself! Works for me ;-)
  16. A lot safer with the bearing cutter that your getting as well mate
  17. Looks spot on that mate, you can use that 30mm collet and straight cutter to run around templates, glad it all came in handy for you, a guide on that bench would come in handy too ;-)

  21. Hi mate I've been doing the same lately, I just take the bark off and hang them in the boiler cupboard, cut them longer than you need as you will find that the ends will split when drying, also try dipping the ends in wax if you have any to prevent splitting, hope this helps
