  1. Not so much the weight rather than the balance. The 95 was noticeably further forward then the 99. I just didn't like it. So baring in mind I've only stuck the scope on and cleaned the barrel (it was really dirty ) it is realy impressive. A few Clicks right and aim up a bit and I was hitting the spinner regularly. The light went so I retired in side to see if I could re parrallax the scope. Locking ring came off really easily so will sort it out tomorrow.
  2. Well after a visit to the gun shop to sample a 98, 95, and a 99s I've come away happy with a new 99 with a sport hd 3-9x40 scope. Theoben ownership will have to wait.
  3. Nope, never shot or broke it. I do check after every shot that it hasn't moved though. I think it would be silly not to on a recoiling gun. The bit that clamps to the rifle is attached by a slot to the actual working bit and this can move up and down if you don't tighten the screw up enough, but mine's always been a bit stiff. It's easy to put on and take off though, and fits in the rifle bag. I've not checked it directly against another chrono, but my pellet speed from the combro matched what the scan at the club says within a few feet per second.
  4. Thanks Mole, I've heard it's a bit marmite on the firing action of the HE gas rams. I should really try one before deciding. I keep thinking about the 99 in .22 (do they come in .20?) as it would be fun to play with open sights again. It was a good fit when I tried it and after all the comments around recently it's got to be a contender. Sigh, someone find me a Fenman in .20 for £250 that I can try before I buy!
  5. Not sure if that was to me, but here is a combro attached to a HW97k.
  6. Just looking for a little advice, or possibly just talk until my head agrees with what my heart wants. I want a break barrel for general plinking and possibly HFT, and maybe something for my wife to use if I ever get her down the range. I'm not after an underlever or I'd buy a TX200hc as I've always wanted one and I've already got use of a HW97k if I want one. First off I don't want a HW95, sorry I just don't like the feel of them in the shoulder. So, HW98, never held one but like the adjustable stock. HW99 felt a better fit than the 95 is there a problem with a low comb as it's made f
  7. That picture is more of a marketing shot! Can you see the lugs sticking down from the plastic bit under the barrel? I use them to attach an elastic band to, double wrapped around the barrel. On the HW97 I mount it upside down.People use various bands and straps to attach it with. Check after each shot. The knurled knob next to the numbers allows the body to move up and down to align the barrel with the sensors. The website is a bit rubbish but it works and they are fine. You can buy it from other websites for a little bit more if you are worried.
  8. Depending on the type of fitting you have on the hose/bottle there may be a little screw in the middle of the fitting that can be adjusted to increase or decrease the flow rate of the air. As mentioned, the phrase "quick fill" is usually to signify that you don't have to take the bottle off a gun to charge it with air. What I think you mean is flow restriction. Simon
  9. Then you need to post on here, or know and use chair gun yourself: The pellets you are using, The speed in feet per second that the gun is shooting them at, The height of the scope center above the center of the barrel, The magnification you have set the scope to (unless it's a first focal plane scope like from Falcon) Then most of us could post up a graph for you.The more accurate the data, the better the graph. If you don't know these values, or can't find out, then you will need to do the real world shooting. when I'm shooting at the club and want targets out at differen

  11. There is the gauge and valves you need just come up for sale on airgunforum for £40.
  12. I couldn't do that on the Airwolf as if the safety is off it will fire regardless of if you have cocked it, so the safety is always on unless I'm about to fire.
  13. Just a little point, I can't see in the photos but it might be there on the other side, do you have a bleed valve on there?
  14. Are you on about a Daystate Airwolf or something else?
  15. Pictures from the sales thread here: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=31bb067ae409a7ad&id=31BB067AE409A7AD%21458&authkey=!AMRF2EX-MlZ7JO0
  16. You won't be able to use the AO for range finding on HFT anyway, you can't touch the scope. Other than having it set so that it blurs slightly at 12 yards and 40 yards like I have my sidewinder set up. When trying a bit of FT, I had my scope up to 20x and it still wouldn't range find very well. That's why all the shooters say you need at least 30x to range find accurately. Simon
  17. Do the new, new ones have Regal on the action? The pictures on Daystate's site has "Huntsman classic" stamped on the side of the metal and Regal on one side of the woodwork and Daystate on the other!
  18. No, he was right. I think it is probably more the first regals had huntsman stocks but there are some out there. Personally if I was buying a Regal I'd want it to say Regal on the outside!
  19. New member signing on. I'll mainly be hanging around the Airguns sections, but I'm still interested in all the other activities on here. Simon
