Tbh I think for this place I'm gonna give it a go trying to push them into the long net. If that fails then guess I'll be shooting them. Those boxes could definitely be of some use on other permission though so think gonna have a go at making 1 ?

Luckily it's not as large as the one if your picture, else I think I'd need more long nets ? Have seen plenty other stuff kicking about in the trees, none of which he's happy to see in there! Should certainly make for a good day though Thanks ?

Yeah mate I've every faith in her, she has time on her side so trying not to rush it but at same time don't want her not knowing what to if that makes sense. Sounds like he's coming on a treat pal! Lovely looking dog too!

Midlands pal....towards the Welsh side ?

Tbh mate not great, was getting myself stressed out and worked up because wasn't able to get her catching. When in reality everything I was trying to get her on wasn't really right for her to be starting with. Decided to take a step back due to frustration and leave her be as didnt want her thinking me getting stressed was due to her. Haven't been out in about 3/4 weeks now. Trying to find rabbits local is difficult enough without trying to find easy squatters! Gonna get her back out this week at some point and just be sensible with her and if she doesn't get a slip then so be it.

They tend to run from 1 group of trees to another and from that group to the next, rarely back to fence. My though was to long net between 2 banks of trees and try push them towards the net

Well your profile says your from "here and there".....so maybe ? But I believe your a couple hours from me at least. And probably wouldn't be worth the hassle then if need decent numbers to make it worth while.
-
Yeah they do seem good from what I've been looking at, and very successful. will have to find some plans and see what can knock up
-
Will have a look at them but like I said to Katchum, don't really know enough about trapping to think I'd do any good Just had a look at them drop boxes, seem like a good bit of kit but not sure how happy land owner will be about me digging a big box into his field. Be worth a mention though I reckon ?

Don't know enough about snaring or trapping to think I'd have much success tbh, plus fence they enter through is on footpath so don't fancy Joe public getting their knickers twisted

Makes sense, ive had a bit of a read up about the fens but reading about it and doing it are 2 completely different things. But from what I've read it's very much like peat? In which case, with nowhere for the water to run off I can understand how difficult would be to get around. Might have to take a trip 1 day and experience it for myself.....maybe Cheers

Any lads on here have much experience of rabbits around Christmas trees? Got some permission on Christmas tree farm and few rabbits on there getting at the young trees. Have taken a few rabbits from the Warren's on the outside of the field with the ferrets but got 1 Warren that I have no access too. Been watching the rabbits from that Warren leave home, squeeze under the fence and into the Christmas trees. Have attempted to lamp them with the dog, more hopefully than expecting but as I thought would be the case I'm losing them through the trees on the lamp. I've heard about p

I'm just hoping you guys meet up and tell us all about it. If your not commenting on here next week Greb I will assume your stuck in the black stuff and bangers left you there.
-
Seems to me the only way for Greb to save face here is to accept a days walking. Out of curiosity Bangers, what makes the fens so difficult to walk? Genuine question as I've never been, not my thing. My way tends to be clay and ploughed fields, which once that starts sticking on your boots makes it difficult enough to move, let alone walk.
-
I bet nobody accepts that match either ?
-
I get the feeling your not Grebs biggest fan.
-
I'm still not sure if the whippets are better than the saluki's or not?! Lots of gauntlets thrown but from what I can see nobody has accepted any offers of a run yet. My favourite part of this thread has to be when it got on to roofing. Greb still has some questions to ask though I'm sure. Keep up the good work chaps ?
-
Just been watching the jolene vids, looks a good dog, good speed on the straight and steady on the bends, which seems to work in her favour a lot of the time. Good watch!
-
I've no idea where people keep getting this assumption

You've had too many wine guns over new year haven't you Mr. Neck
-
No warnings from me, rather fond of the silliness truth be told ?
-
Well cheers, maybe all the reading is paying off. ?

I've read a lot of the threads on here, commented on a few and asked a few questions, and I've also tried several times to follow the coursing lines as I enjoy watching dogs work, so a bit of background is always good, kill or no kill im not bothered I just like to watch dogs that give it their all. The lines confuse me but the same names appear a lot of the time. I know zero people in this game and it currently just a learning curve. This is why my opinion matters zero, ive never seen any coursing with my own eyes just watched videos and read books/articles and of.course what is said on here.

Couldn't tell you mate, maybe but couldn't tell you who or how far back, I brought the dog because saw what sire and dam had done and tbf the lad I had her off as helped me out countless times with her

Mainly saluki x grey but bit of all sorts thrown in mix along the line I believe
