the point is, stunning is our accepted industry standard a standard that is agreed to be better than non stunning, so why then allow both as all it does is cause a rift in societies. all animals are on this earth as part of a food chain excluding apex predators, we are the only apex predator who consciously chooses how our quarry is killed, if we lived in a place with no guns/slaughter houses etc. and our only tool was a knife and spear then yes that would be a totally acceptable method of killing, but where we have the ability to make the slaughter as humane as possible then why choose to mak

this is a clear case of the government giving in to minority pressure and the issues it causes in our society by doing so, if they had of just said no, our industry standard is to stun prior to slaughter and that's that, then this whole mess of halal/religious/racist and what ever else might have been avoided. the same for face veils.banks and what ever other appeasements have been made,

you seem to be getting the idea of what i am very badly trying to say but if there is no difference then why did the industry introduce stunning and now in this country considered humane when it would also appear that not stunning is also humane next question is how can a compulsory requirement not be compulsory in certain circumstances

here goes, light the blue touch paper and stand well back i only ever use heat if their injured or its seriously cold for a prolonged period. never done any of mine any harm and i have never seen them shiver even in some extreme conditions. they never feel cold either despite the temperature, good bedding is essential though, -

Personally? I think it's more circumstantial than black and white. In a 'wild' and raw situation, severing the carotid is better than beating it to death with a stick. But, given the means and opportunity? By all means stun. Remember when poor Jigsaw had a Dog smash its leg, on the mountain? Fortunately, he was carrying a centrefire rifle and did the decent thing, under the circumstances. Is tying an unwanted Dog to a post and shooting it okay? I'd say not.
