For stars beyond 500 light-years away the techniques for determining distances must get more complicated because of the limits of measuring tiny changes in a stars apparent change in position. The first such technique, called spectroscopic parallax, makes use of a known relationship between a stars color and itsmagnitude (i.e., its brightness). A stars magnitude can be measured in two ways: by its apparent magnitude (that is, the brightness we measure from Earth, which is dependent not only on its temperature but also on how far away it is from us) and by its absolute magnitude (that is, th

i am telling you there are billions of objects in this universe that are older than 6000 years, i am telling you how that is arrived at, i have told you how that is calculated. so how have i not answered your question

i am telling you that by using the speed of light to measure distance light takes to reach the earth then there are billions of stars older than 6000 years given that fact the universe is older than your creation theory, it is nothing to do with how fast the objects got to where they are but the amount of time light takes to get back to the earth from them.

for the earth to be 6000 years old or less then then the calculations of distance to the stars would have to have an error of over 99.99999999999999999999999999999999% or something if this was correct even relatively short distances like probes being sent to intercept comets would be impossible but the fact we have done it says the calculation is quite accurate,

    . Over a year, light travels 5.87849981 x 1012 miles (roughly 9.4605284 x 1012 kilometers.) Written out, that’s 5,878,499,810,000 miles or 9,460,528,400,000 kilometers.

the sun is approximately 150 million km or 93 million miles away, a distance that is known as the “astronomical unit” (AU). Neptune, the most distant planet, is 30 AU from the sun, or some 44.8 billion km (27.9 billion mi). The Voyager 2 spacecraft, launched in 1977, reached Jupiter just two years later, but did not reach Neptune until 1989. The nearest stars, Alpha Centauri A-B and Proxima Centauri, are roughly 1000 times more distant, roughly 4.3 light-years away (one light-year is the distance that light travels in a Julian year of 365.25 days, namely 9.461 trillion km or 5.879 trillion mi

simple fact is there are millions of stars millions of light light years further away than the 6000 light year limit that that would prove creationism, i have looked at the reasons followers of creationist give for this anomaly and they range from miscalculation although i struggle to see how anyone can miscalculate an error that large from a really small number like 6000, to the likes of the scientist on that vid on the other page who makes valid points about possible distortions in time but conveniently only talks of time speeding up light to make the distance smaller not the possibility of

distance = time over speed. a light year is the distance light travels in one earth year so it is a measure of time, no distance is immeasurable with a point A and a point B the trouble is if the distance measures more than 6000 years then the whole stack of cards falls,

at several points during our development in the womb we indeed do have tails All mammals have a tail at one point in their development; in humans, it is present for a period of 4 weeks, during stages 14 to 22 of human embryogenesis. This tail is most prominent in human embryos 3135 days old Wtf he has a cook on his back lol tails have multiple uses

i will make this simple. A = what we understand now that light takes x amount of time to travel from y to the earth B = what the scientist on that vid was saying that light could be speeded up under certain circumstances. C= if light can be speeded up it can equally be slowed down under certain circumstances (law of Ying & Yang) what that tells me is its twice as likely that the earth over 6000 years old as not

the speed of light is 299,792,458 metres per second so time is the constant. With technology limiting the velocities of astronauts, these differences are minuscule: after 6 months on the International Space Station (ISS), the astronaut crew has indeed aged less than those on Earth, but only by about 0.007 seconds (nowhere near the 1 year disparity from the theoretical example). The effects would be greater if the astronauts were traveling nearer to the speed of light (approximately 300,000 km/s), instead of their actual speed – which is the speed of the orbiting ISS, about 7.7 km/s.[3] Ti

nothing more than "possibilities" to try to get the facts to fit in with the creationist theory there mate, if light can travel at different speeds due to time then the law of averages says some will be slower and some faster so with that half the stars would "possibly" be further away as opposed to all being nearer as is suggested,
