johnrussell is 100\ right, lots of the so called terrier men out there are in the game for the wrong reasons, wanting hard dogs and getting the game a bad name.my good friend the late bert gripton said the antis would never get the terrier work banned, it would be the men in the game themselves who would get it finished and he was right.
I have lots of keeper mates who shoot mostly 223 and 243 only one mate shoots a 204 and he as changed to a 22/250 I think that tells you a lot.regarding the 222 ive lost count how many foxs ive shot with mine, and never have problems with ammunition.
can any readers help me regarding the lightforce lamps.the wiring in the main housing on the lamp as broken and needs rewiring any advice on how to take the main body apart.
got a variety of rabbit nets for sale spun nylon, all colours red, blue, yellow, brown, lime green, grey and orange.prices 2.00 for 3/6 nets 2.50 for 4ft nets.
I was interested in reading what bryan had to say about a guy whos going to be in the book from Ireland.the guy fits the description, like the guy I hunted with down in cork some years ago,he told me he had terriers from bert gripton, a man who I spent a lot of time with working terriers and hound work.if you know of anybody with berts blood line I would be interested bryan.
I have seen most breeds work, and I think the strains more important.i have a rough russel bitch which is harder than most black dogs I have seen.the litter sister is more of a baying dog,and as had a lot more foxs than the hard bitch will ever have.
I have sisters who have all been with myself and my brother over the years hunting with hounds and seeing terriers work, nice to see more women getting involved, all the best.
I lurcher115,iam also new to the site.i hunted and worked terriers in Shropshire with a well known terrier man bert gripton who was just off the a5 shifnal area.had some great times working terriers and hunting with hounds.beautiful part of the country.
couldn't agree more what sheer cruelty, not only for the boar but cruelty for the dogs, and then to release a little patterdale.lets have a fair hunt, wether its terrier work, lurcher work or any hunting.then they impose the hunting act on us,crazy.
just read a good post regarding the law on the releasing of foxs, forgot the guys name but a very good point regarding the law.thats all the the antis want to hear the releasing of foxs.
I totally agree with extreame hunter, regarding the releasing of quarry for another day.not one of the farmers were I go would be happy regardes releasing the quarry. I thought it was about a service for the farmers anyway.this was the problem with the foxhunting, people saying they hunted for fun.but you ask a good huntsman his opinion.yes respect your quarry.
very good post regarding respecting your quarry, totally agree regarding some of the so called hunting and digging men on these forums, never heard so much rubbish.did like the 2 jack russells with the lurcher though.
nice to see russells being worked instead of black terriers all the time.started off many years ago with smooth coated russells only bayed but never let you down, did a lot of earth work.got 2 Russell bitches now, ones very hard and will never see the amount of work like them old baying terriers.
seen most of the breeds kill rats, but the best dog ever seen was a Russell bitch of my brothers.intelligence almost human, infact more intelligent than a lot of the people I have been with, which says a lot.heard the plummer terriers are good but never had the opportunity to see one work.
