    I mainly hunt rabbit on land that isnt all that open, no large fields and lots of cover. So i work a 5/8 3/8 kelpie cross. Smart little dog with good prey drive and quick off the mark. He lacks speed top end but thats not needed for me.

    Has anyone used tried that JustTextGiving to donate money to the rescue centre for the dog? I really want to make a donation but i just want to make sure its a trusted service to donate through?

    My experiance is my dogs kept in the house but i walk him in all weather without a coat and he is perfectly fine other than if hes stood still for long periods like if my parents fetch him to watch me play rugby. He shivers a little then. In my opinion he is comfortably outside even in the minuses. Whereas i know a dog of similar build and coat and he is walked in a coat all the time and the first time i saw it without his coat he was a shivering wreck. I think aslong as your dogs get exercise in the cold they will be perfectly fine keeping them outside will only make a slight differance but n

    I think he was about 8 month on this pic. Il take a picture later of him in the same position as yours the resemblace is pretty cool. I think the main diferance is your dog looks to have a lot of greyhound in the mix whereas mine has whippet showing through.

    Cracking looking dogs. What breedings the first dog D Lloyd? Her markings are spitting image of mine. My pup started as a merle but the patchs seperated to make some odd brindle and hes got the same sepertion down his face.

    Like paulus said sensible exercise and time. I thought my dogs cut had healed there wasnt even a scab so i took him out for a run on the football field thinking its nice and flat wothin 10 minutes of running he was limping again and the cut had re-opened slightly. So its worth bearing in mind even when they look healed it may not always be the case.

    The light coloured bit on his pad was the cut. I forgot to mention i bathed it daily with salt water and obviously always put clean dressings on.

    Im not sure on the exact names of the products but if you ask in any agrecultural shop they will have them. My lurcher cut his pad really bad so i got an anteseptic spray to clean it. The spray was purple and died his fur for ages. Then i used a powder which is used for cuts on things like cows, horses sheep etc that clots the cut up and i used cotton wool pads between the pad and on the cut to cushion it and keep them from rubbing if that makes sense and bandaged it with a horse bandage. The cut was healed within a few weak. My biggest problem was keeping the cut dry so it would knit together

    I might have to buy one if there only 12 quid it will come in handy. Because iv been stopped a fair few times by the police asking what im doing and i think the big tracer lamp is what they look for if i had a decent small torch they might not be as particular with me. Idr be able to get away with saying im just walking the dog.

    I dont know how many lumens but my big maglite is quite handy sometimes when im just walking the dogs on the smaller fields its accounted for a couple of bunnies.

    Are those LED torches those cree ones? Iv heard there pretty good. I used a tracer lamp and lithium battery. Far over priced most lamps.

    Your almost right with the breeding hes kelpie x whippet/greyhound hes 5/8 sighthound 3/8 kelpie but somewere down the line there was a bit of collie added in. And as for the lab he does his own thing when out on walks he doesnt hunt anything or flush much but he comes in really handy at retrieving shot birds and a bit of ferreting. The lurchers only young at the minute hes probably had about a dozen rabbits but hes coming on well i think.
