  1. thanks jim will make up a set that size at the moment my allrounder is 25mm to 10mm double tbg[ 10mm steel and 44 cal lead] but i,ve had the same theraband for quite a while now and i heard that the latest stuff is better and you don,t need as big a size. i,m going to be ordering another 5m of it so it may be interesting atb stevie
  2. i would agree with all thats been said also it is possible to fit a theraband flat bandset to the blackwidow, there are instructions on youtube if you do a search tried it myself and it does work and not at all difficult. what size is your medium rig that caters for all your needs ;shefield catapults; if you don,t mind me asking. i,m trying to work towards that sort of set up myself ta
  3. will need to try the waxed stuff but up till now i use very thin asda excercise band cut into short but very stretchy lenghts to tie at the pouch.[same sort of thing as torsten on slingshot forum] it weighs very little compared to theraband gold and so far has never been the reason for a broken band. obviosly the bands do break eventualy, especialy with a mega taper but they usualy go about 2cm from the pouch.
  4. yes i aso like to see my dogs interact with others , the husky thing had me baffled but this is now becoming clear from all the posts i was convinced they may be giving off a different vibe to other dogs and in a way i supose they are but its just a lot of pent up energy and possibly frustration its a shame really because their needs are unlikely to be met. an extreme example of a breed not being allowed to do its job probably the reason why those of us who work our dogs how they were bred to work usually experience less behavioral problems than those who don,t.
  5. that just about sums it up then mate
  6. ok thanks mate good to see them up and at em, never seen a leaf blower used before that may be an easier option for some flolks
  7. thanks for the replies seems like lack of exercise and stimulation comes across to my dogs terrier certainly can,t be doing with hyped up dogs in general but the huskies must be showing it to a greater degree and i,m just not seeing it it,s starting to make sense now worst incident was a few months ago up local park where an adolecent husky off the lead came over to me , my mate and our dogs. it didn,t appear to show any unfriendly signs but my terrier just flew at it and i wasn,t expecting it. he normaly tolerates all dogs and just minds his own business unless he gets hassle then react
  8. great filming. how is the lighter of the two black dogs bred if you don,t mind me asking ,because it a double of my dog ta
  9. your probably right about the huskies being hyped up and my dogs sensing that . also fear is almost definatly the case and its a good point about my dogs not having seen these types much, they are going to have to get used to it because they are so popular now. i was wondering really if these type of dogs give off a different vibe that mine don,t understand or recognise but your post go a long way to explaining this thanks.
  10. maybe a bit off topic on the lurcher section but here goes, huskies and husky type dogs are getting very popular near me at the moment ,but for some strange reason my lurcher and terrier seem to have a severe dislike for them. terrier i can sort of understand a bit of hostility from but lurcher is just not like that with any dog or person and is very submissive and loves other dogs ,sometimes to the degree that he,s a bit over the top. neither of them have ever been attacked or anything negative from huskies and i don,t dislike them so its not going down the lead to my dogs. the huskies i,
  11. will try the pin hammer method , sounds easier. also if the lee ball mould makes them clean then they could also be worth a look ta
  12. glad you like them get the lead of my mate who gets old lead pipes off a plumber. think you can buy it from the scrappies but not sure how much it costs
  13. had mine chronied a few years back by a friend . forget the speed but with 25mm to 20mm taper double tbg and 14mm lead got 21 ft/lb
  14. not sure really if the rough ones shoot any better , was told about finishing them off like that a few years ago but only tried it recently as a different way of getting rid of the uneven bits off the mould. looking at your pics of them magnified they just look rough and not as golf ball like as i thought
  15. joerge sparve has recently been experimenting with increased band life by using ttf slingshots with leather on the front to cushion and protect bands on rebound so you may be onto something
  16. your oblong ones obviously work ok mate as your recent addition proves so can,t argue with that, 10mm hex nuts appear the most popular and i have used them also but find that accuracy and speed drop off quickly after a short distance.[but are surprisingly accurate close in] on the plus side the nuts do a lot of damage close range due to their sharp edges and i have taken feathered stuff with them. have also heard of steel rod cut into short pieces for max damage at close range but not tried them myself. i maybe taking it too far with getting an exact round ball and glad your having success
  17. i make my own lead ball ammo which isn,t too difficult once youve got all the gear, it does take a while to make a large number so i can understand that they are quite expensive to buy. the most time comsuming bit i find is cutting the balls away from the excess lead on the pouring holes. you can simply just cut them away and leave it at that , but this always leaves a bit sticking out. to get rid of these bits can be done by filing or rolling between two hard surfaces , but as i,ve said this takes a while. does anybody use a different /quicker method? some say that at slingshot ammo wei

  19. i sometimes put raincoats on my dogs if its raining bad because i,m lazy and saves me drying them when they get back into the house,
  20. paid 100 quid because i had the cash at the time and where i was walking everyday was destroying my walking boots with the wet. your right about barbed wire ,but only used them on long wet grass and to be honest are the most comfy wellies i,ve ever owned this has probably been their downfall because they were never off my feet. i think walking on pavements to get to the fields has caused the wear and if i did get them fixed i would only wear them on soft ground. its being conned by the shop that is most annoying[ i would not have spent that amount of cash on something that couldn,t be repa
  21. i bought a pair of hunter wellies over a year ago [can,t remember the model] they are the ones with a waklking boot type sole and are excellent , comfy ,and they could be worn allday, i was origonaly just going to get the standard hunter wellie but was persuaded by the shop assistant that these pair were more comfy and when the soles wear down they can be resoled in the same way as a standard walking boot. so although they were more expensive i thought long term a better bet due to the resoleing ability. so one year later the heel on one boot is badly worn so i enquired at my local shoe re
  22. i use the same moulds as atomlab and have 3 0f them he,s correct about using a clamp also [large clothes pegs] size 0 is as he states 9mm size 1 is 11mm size 2 is 14mm these sizes are approximate
  23. have a look on the slingshot foruml on the tutorial section on shooting techniques one method commonly used is to have your anchor point [the place you pull the pouch back to] at the corner of your mouth and the band length nearly maxed out at this distance..[may need to shorten your bands] the reason the bearing pings off the to the side is that you are holdinmg the pouch too far over to the side so that it doesn,t catch your face on release which is only natural.. i see you are in west lothian like myself. are you one of lee,s mates?
