Ha ha ha are you for real? I head shoot rabbits regularly up to 90 yards longest being 127yards with my 10/22. I can assure you I'm no Rambo nor do I have any want to be. I concede if I was punching paper targets it's not as accurate as my mates anchutz, but I'm not I'm shooting vermin and it makes a very good job of it. P.S last time I checked 5 million of these rifles have been sold maybe they have got something right Now i was reading some old posts on here a few days ago and i saw a thread that had a guy called Duncan and he says that shooting rabbits at that sort of rang

Damage To Swift Moderator By Hmr Bullet
rimmer replied to kenj's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
You can be fairly sure that your first bullet left the barrel and mod, if you want to think that a few damaged baffles is the worst that can happen if you get a bullet lodged in your barrel you could be in for a bit of a shock should you actually get a bullet lodged in the barrel and then fire another. your hang fire was just a coincidence not a cause. -

Damage To Swift Moderator By Hmr Bullet
rimmer replied to kenj's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I very much doubt that there would have been much of the mod left attached to the rifle if this had been the case. the fact that the first round fired means that there would have been enough pressure to push the bullet out, a magnum primer alone will push a 223 round out at about 12ftlbs. "multiple ricochets" could easily be one bullet or parts of. I agree that the most likely cause of the damage was an obstruction, but it was a misaligned mod and the rounds fired previously brought it a point that caused total failure, thinking about it the hang fire was prob just a poorly timed coincidence a -
is there such a thing ?????

Damage To Swift Moderator By Hmr Bullet
rimmer replied to kenj's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Very doubtful Really, well do enlighten us and tell us where you think the bullet from the first hangfire went then? Well firstly lets clear up the hang fire and miss fire thing, a miss fire is a total failure to fire and a hang fire is a delayed fire. Althought the first round was a hang fire the bullet would have still had enough energy to get it out of the barrel, it doesnt require too much pressure to push it out. the result of the hang fire could have been higher or lower pressure but in either case the bullet would have exited the rifle and the mod. if the barrel had of had a -

The first shot was a hang fire not a miss fire, not common but they do happen, and as such when it finally went the pressure could have spiked or dropped because of an unpredictable burn of the powder the bullet may not have stabilized and may have clipped the mod on the way out, the second shot sounds like it fully connected with the damaged part of the mod, that is the point where you should have stopped, had the next bullet been obstructed in the barrel by bits of the mod the story could have been sad. It is very unlikely that the first bullet remained in the barrel or the mod, if it had b -
Slipper buddy save your money i have a hawke reflex 3x9x50 on my 223, i never shoot it on higher mag than x5 apart from when zeroing, i have had bad expirances with expensive scopes getting broken, saying that i have just spent £1100 on a new N750 for this rifle so fingers crossed it lasts long than the 2 weeks my kharles managed.

.22Lr Subsonic And Supersonic Ammo
rimmer replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
in answer to your question: If you zero with subs it would be very difficult to use HV ammo with the same zero. there are simply too many variables involved. Sure you can say as a rule of thumb the HV will be say 2" higher at 50yrds but what would it be at 70,50,30,75.40 or 60. its not imposible to sort it all out but add in the range estimation (which most people get wrong) and some wind, the butterfly effect, the earths rotation and flatulent wild life and you have a whole fist full of dinamics that will all serve to f**k you up. I always carry some HV rounds when iam out with the 22 aswel -

Wanted 22-250 Once Fired Brass
rimmer replied to boltaction's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Norma brass is nothing special, you just as well off with the privi, for our use we would notice no difference. and the prive comes annealed, so you could prob get 5 maybe 6 reloads before it would need doing again depending on how much you work the neck. -

Guns. Are They Tools Or Love Objects?
rimmer replied to walshie's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I use mine for work and pleasure, and have guns that i would never get rid of. but it is only the guns the rest of the kit is almost disposable. -
If you buy a pulsar 550 or 750 make sure you have plenty of batteries with you on a nights walk about. One set of batterys si enough if your only using it for shooting with, which you should be doning if its on your rifle, use a monocular for spotting or a dim lamp.
-
the pulsar works in daylight so you wouldnt have to change.

Looking For Advice On A New Hatsan Escort
rimmer replied to atlanta1000's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Brought a Silver pidgeon 2 weeks ago for clay shooting but i still hit more with el cheapo escort !!!!!. -
I just brought an N750, it was that or an archer, i dont like the archer because it pushes you down the stock, i have used one a few times but find they give you an un=natural position on the gun. so the N750 was my choice.
