    Defo concrete for the base - with a slope and a drain - must be wood, preferably insulated, for the sleeping box. I know the buggers chew it but its so much warmer than bricks alone must be a few lads who will help out with the base for a supply of free ale, its how i did it! good luck with the kennels and its very true that if you do it right first time they'll last longer than you will :laugh:

    Well, well !! would just like to thank M.R 1,Shay and p***y for a truly entertaining half hour reading this post. its a very refreshing change to read an informative thread by well versed, knowledgeable people about a controversial subject with a lot of people joining in and adding their "tuppence worth". In my limited semi informed opinion all we need now is a a few more of the genuine people on here to meet, suss each other out, get out and dig a few and then we will have taken a whole leap forward Pie in the sky i know, but thanks again to all involved.

    Having been involved in a few digs in my younger days (France & Ireland) i have seen what happens to overly hard dogs that get stuck in with a pig, you tend to bury them with the backfill. I'm sure that someone will say that such a dog exists but iv'e never seen one, i have seen a bull terrier X staff that was the best draw dog iv'e ever seen but even he would would get a severe chopping in the process. The whole idea was to hold the quarry in one place so that it could be dug to, not to try and kill it. A single handed badger dog - same as a Newcastle Virgin :tongue2:

    sounds like the pups not weaned and not ready for semi solid food yet. try the old favorite farex mixed with mostly goats milk and a little finely minced lamb might do it. Beware of cows milk, most pups are lactose intolorent. if the pup has made it to 3 weeks then it must be ok with the digestion etc so its just not ready for anything other than the bitches milk.
