I'm looking for a new box and posted a few days ago, every one said b & F by a mile but one person sugested an Ortovox system, had a look and was impressed, trouble is they are only available in germany and i can't find any one who has used one!! They are 340 euros for the set so are a bit cheaper than the B & F, here is the link - if it works http://www.waidwerk-international.com/

feck me 15 million birds at £20+ pounds a bird, thats " hold on carry the six zeros" thats 300 million pounds a year MY ARSE!!!!!! i doubt that the BBc's propaganda dept can justify the maths on that one

Fair play to you wilf, i also have no faith in Societys process' any more,
-
Well B&f it seems to be!! cheers chaps, any info on this Ortovox thingy? i think its an avalanche victim detection system?? or similar, can only find then on German web-sites and my german is a little non existant. many thanks for the replys

Thanks for the reasoned reply martin and the rabi's doing the cutting went to great pains to explain how good they were, but the point is if we ( the great unwashed) have to stun our animals before blood letting then why is there an exception that is contrary to accepted animal welfare standards just because of some archaic religious belief? Surely in our society we adhere to accepted practices regarding the treatment of animals prior and during slaughter so why are there exceptions? it really is one rule for them and another for the rest of us. I take your point regarding the dexterity of t

Go to the nearest wicks or B&Q and ask for polystyrene cavity wall insulation batts, very cheap and you can put them in place with spray glue.
-
Well the little fella is now coming on, albeit slowly, but really stating to show some serious interest so its time to go and buy a new collar and box. The last one was a deben and worked fine for a good few years once i got into the habit of taping the battery caps on!! But now just to makes things a bit more difficult we have these "new fangled" Bellman & Flint boxes. all well and good but the collars look a fair bit bigger than my old Deben one and (maybe) could be a bit more prone to getting a bite or two and thus damaged or destroyed. So my question to you good people out there is

I insulated the kennel walls with polystyrene batts and then boxed in with 3mm ply, then put 150mm of wood shavings in the bottom and covered that with 2 pads of good hay (defo NOT straw). its so warm i think i'll sleep in there myself Oh and the shavings are pine and the sleeping box has a draft stopper, bloody dog house is better than mine

04 Navara, just clocked up its 100,000 th mile, and apart from regular oil changes ( every 6k) its still on the original set of brake pads!!, a lot of motorway miles granted but thats still some going. the only thing to go wrong was a gearbox mounting that came loose, took two minutes to fix. sounds like the first bit of good luck i've had in ages, "my navaras fine"!!

When i saw working and Nigeria in the same sentence, i assumed it was an ex-pat thread as none of the locals know the meaning of the word "work". they do know the following though: Con, Thieve, steal, Rob, Mug, skive, Lie, Cheat and a few more to boot Who would want to keep a full grown Hyena on a lead, wonder what the greyhound cross would look like

On Sky 3 at the mo, Kosher slaughterer trying to explain why the animals being slaughtered by having their throats cut feel no pain and die immediately, then showed pics of an animal tring to "Moo" with no throat!! what a load of self serving bollocks, the Jews and the Muslims are as bad as each other, no stunning just a slash across the jugulars and wait. And they say that the ban on fox hunting was prompted by animal welfare issues, i have never treated any animal i have hunted and caught with any of the barbarism that these people do. Does that make me a racist? hope not, i hope th

The pics are real alright, i used to employ a young fella who's dad was iranian and who's mum was from the mountains on the Pakistan / Afghan border, well needless to say this fella had two sisters, and they both had those pale green eyes and believe me when i say i have never seen such beautiful looking women anywhere else in the world (still looking of course ) Apparently the gene goes back to the times of Alexander the great and the greek invasion of middle asia, may not be a purely greek thing though as Alexander "collected" a whole manner of people along the way to add to the army.

Well thats a thread for a sunday morning, got back from a walk and found this WOW well JD you seem to be the voice of reason as usual, but our particular species has evolved over many thousands of years with all the subtle diiferences along the way ( latest example is the lightnening and features of African americans) and before you go on about cross breeding thats part of evolution too! for those that believe in the divine thats also been subject to evolution, the varying biblical texts written by different persons and all with there own versions of events have all been added to, general

Well i have found a sure fire way to get england to play out of their skins ------- i put a bet on the convicts, £20 to win by 8 clear points, and of course they go and lose!!. Not all bad though got 3 to 1 on the frogs !! lets where we can go from here, still don't think they can win the comp, but hope they are in final at least.

you could walk the dog on a lead or give it something a little more substantial to concentrate on

Mr1 i usually agree with the sentiments you write, the explanations and the depth of knowledge make a welcome change from "nice pups mate" but i have to take issue with your comment "a terrier having 5-10 digs a season is not a test for any terrier" well in previous times i managed just what you quote, 5-10 digs a season with each terrier, and both were good bitches, would find, stay until dug to and in a some instances kill their quarry if the chance arose, both these bitches were 110% and were known to be so. In my humble opinion, a terrier that is dug to 10 times a season and is 100% every
