  5. Most of my guns shot well with AA Fields. I have just returned to tbe sport so still using my AA Fields from years ago
  6. Hi, I am after a Ratcatcher for use around a barn on a new permission of mine. I am not looking for anything to blinged up as it will be used mainly by my son and I may mod it to suit at a later date What have you got? Now sorted - Thanks for interest
  7. Domed pellet for me too but may try out different types for rats at close quarters
  8. Awesome job! Was that maxi-rail a bugger to get off? Thinking about tuning mine soon
  9. I'm running with a Mk1 Lightning and am pretty happy with it so far. There is a twang there but it isnt that bad, the later rifles might be a little more twangy but others will be in a better position to answer that as I havent owned one. I have used it on rabbit, squirrel and rat since I have owned mine, which hasnt been long and have had no problems dispatching any of them humanely. I like them but it is all subjective, what suits one person may not suit another. Try one if you can
  10. Great shot, keep up that pest control
  11. Hi, I have an almost new (75 - 100 pellets shot) Browning Buck Mark pistol. I purchased the pistol from Germany, it is boxed and nearly new. I have a red dot on there at the moment so this may have made a slight mark on the rail but am unsure until I take it off. I'm only looking to do a deal with a ratcatcher as I have gained permission on another shoot to clear rats so want something light and compact to make it easier so I dont have to keep swapping kut over. The Browning is a great pistol and easy to shoot. Pics can be emailed. Photos added
  12. I had another result today, managed to get one of my old permission back again after years of absence. It's very local and h is overrun with rabbits and tree rats. The down side to it is thety have loads of horses onsite. That said, I will walk the land over again in the next couple of days to suss it out. I will get to meet the other perm landowners next week for the chicken farm so they will keep me busy for sure. Like they say, if you don't ask, you don't get!
  13. Cheers Archie, I have a few local contacts so if it's a no go then I will have to call in some favours.
  14. It's not to bad around here but I've been away from the sport for a while so haven't tried my last 2 permissions. Am desperate to go back as it was a good shoot. Hope to go see them in tbe next couple of weeks but this chicken farm might be good too!
  15. Dorset Sherborne Average age 70 there
  16. Interesting video that, I'm off to buy some Jets! They remind me if the old Marksman pellets we used to buy as kids
  17. Chatting to a colleague at work today and has given me a contact name and number for somebody who owns a chicken farm near Sherborne. I thought the name was familiar, it's actually somebody I knew so fingers crossed. They have rat issues amongst other things so hopefully all will be well.
  18. Visitrd my nan today, she is coping fairly well considering. Thanks for all the kind words, its appreciated.
  19. It started well as I purchased a new springer to get me out shooting again after many years absence from the sport but yesterday I lost my grandad to cancer. He was awesome and we fished together right up until last year after he managed to fall in at Revels in Dorset! That was funny looking back but definately not at the time! He gave up immediately He loved the outdoor life and was always keen to listen to my shooting stories. He will be missed.... RIP Grandad
  20. Cracking write up and awesome job on the shooting
  21. Peanut butter is always a winner for me
  22. I remember taking my future father in law out on one of my permissions years ago. Awful shot but he loved gutting and skinning rabbits! I swear he was checking just to see what I was like as a person. I took him a few times, he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo but damn was he good at rabbit prepping
  23. Great looking rifle and quality shooting to boot! Nice job Chris
