My 1st terrier, a border, stopped by some brambles, stuck his head in and caught a leveret. Tried to get it off him alive, but it was too damaged to release. The dog was good for f**k all else and prompted me to start keeping blacks LOL

My mates dog had what sounds the same. After he eventually died due to a fit, the vet did an autopsy and found a tumor on his brain. He said that as it was growing it was causing more fits. He died at nine and was worked up until then.

I read it. Where was he digging jurassic park? he said the foxes were 23lb, 26lb and 26 3/4lb, I know they exist to that size but 3 in one day LOL. I've been digging 25 odd years and the biggest i've dug to is 21lb, and was the only one we've ever weighed.

Chaz, she's lurcher to lurcher, a mix of bedlington, deerhound and greyhound, she stands just short of 24 inches to the shoulder. Midnight I invited opinions and respect yours, I was hoping for a natural, but don't we all LOL. If she does fail to make the grade i'm afraid i'll just have to make room for a new one as my 7 year old and her have become inseprable mates, but it's early days yet and hopefully she might make a reasonable dog oneday, but I'm not nieve enough to think she's going to be a world beater. I've kept terriers for 25 years, but lurchers is a new one to me although i've been out with lads who work them. Terriers have normally got it in their belly or they don't, not quite black and white, but i'd say easier to decide on keeper or cull. I was hoping someone would give me some sort of solution that may need time and work, as i'm prepared to put that in as the bitch is 14 months and the summer months are fast approaching.

I've taken her ferreting on one occasion. She caught a rabbit that slipped the net, but basically she ran it in circles until it virtually waved the white flag, a decent dog would have snapped it up in half the time. Lamped her sunday night, she had about half a dozen runs at squatters in the middle of big fields, I walked them up and had to virtually kick them up the arse to make them run, she was on them all the way to the hedges. After every run I was thinking shall I pack in now in case she starts opening up because that would have put the tin lid on a frustrating night.

I've got a young bitch of 14 months, when out lamping she's up and on rabbits, but just doesn't seem to want to pick up although they are there for easy pickings. Is there anybody who can give me any tips as to what I can do to iron out the problem or has she just not got what it takes?

Was it cold, wearing a t shirt too small for him and did he have a Union Jack tatoo, 5 foot f*****g 2 tall (not the dog the twat with the lead). If he did he walks his dogs down my way too. PS tell him if his dog goes near mine again his head is going up his arse LOL

There was a piece on Clarissa and the countryman about it a few years back. Johnnys russell found one. Bloke he was with uses a dog to find them regular.

What i've found with Pickaxes line is that they are gangly pups, then two months later around the 18 month mark they look completely different, heads, shoulders and backs just expand, and muscle up.

WORKING bedlington type, to a whippet, you've got a great chance of getting a WORKING lurcher, well done hope he does you proud. Be interseting to see how he looks after you've got him looking well, please keep us updated. Phill

Having read about the airdale scenario in these circumstances i'd of used that dog too, but i'm sure if these shores were blessed with working airdales of the correct blood and working ability i'd have done my homework and searched out a suitable proven worker.
