  1. I agree with the above mosty but I would always go down the taming route if all else fails I'd pass them on to a "bunny hugger" I work all my ferrets & I'm not prepared to put my hand down in any warren to grab a ferret latched on to a rabbit only to have it savaged by an un trustworthy beast!
  2. I've had this before myself, it could be that as we come into the breeding season he's getting more tetchy if he's kept with other hobs & he's on the receiving end of the're aggression that he see's you as a rival he's basically a teenager full of testosterone, I would not have him near or within scent of your jils if you can. Also if the bloodline is a little to close (inbreeding) I've found this can throw up the odd savage, I had a polecat Jill that was a bit to inbred & she was untameable/unpredictable I got savaged daily until I ended up giving her the 'good news' she was one of a s
  3. I had a Polecat hob that I had to hold with two hands some 30 odd years ago,he was too big for working he always got tangled up in the nets, constantly lay up (big problem for us as we were always poaching) in the end a mate had him & he escaped from his hutch & killed his next door neighbours prize winning lop eared rabbits (the proud owner was a copper!) then it killed my mates dads cockerel that he was fatting up for Christmas, but to top it all it killed some old granny's Persian cat, it's killing spree was mentioned in the local paper asking for the owner to come collect it from
  4. I agree with you a regarding the trigger guard it's the only thing in my opinion that lets it down,if I find a better replacement I'll pm you mate.
  5. I had a Gamo shadow igt (gas ram) it turned out to be one of the worst guns I've ever owned even after fitting a Charlie da tuna custom trigger,1st of all gamo use far to much plastic in there construction, the barrel wasn't even rifled down the whole length??! The barrel had far to much lateral movement for consistent accuracy, & I found it to be hold sensitive, but my mates son loved it, so much so he swapped his mk1 tx200 for it happy days in the end!
  6. Probably my last outing this weekend, not bin able to get out as much as I'd liked, but two of last years kits have shown good promise & proved to be good bolters & not shy of shotgun fire, so result for this season! Bring on the next!
  7. Sorry about the join in the story feckin dog made me hit the wrong button!
  8. Security wanted there names & addresses when they asked my mates ol man were he lived he replied "no fixed abode" then they ask Dave he said "in the flat above him"
  9. My mates old man & his mate "Dave the dog" used to ferret the land around Luton airport many years ago, they didn't have permission to do so & this one time they were caught by airport security who were convinced they had a bomb in the carrying box after being reassured there were ferrets in the box the
  10. My floors are 18mm ext Ply then I make lift out trays that go In the toilet corner this makes cleaning out a doddle, just put plenty of wood shavings in the trays & when it comes to clean out time just lift out .
  11. Gone are the days when you more or less could ferret every month with an 'r' in it & not come across scuttlers, lIke we used to
  12. I wasn't aware that the "colonels" blend of herbs & spices was a favourite mealtime treat! Lol
  13. I always feed mine fresh meat in winter (rabbit, pigeon & whatever other vermin falls pray to the airgun) I alway feed with the fur or feather on the carcass, in the summer I feed a good dry food as fresh meat soon gets fly ridden & tainted.
  14. Thank you for your replies gents, I'll give them a call.
  15. I went on advanced netting website, looked for sheet netting (I'm after 10z 17 meshes wide) but was a bit puzzled as to what to order as all the nets I saw were fishing related, not being a fisherman I found it hard to relate what fish is the size of a feckin rabbit! Can anyone help?
  16. Get one my friend you won't be disappointed!

  18. I wouldn't say it would be most people's 1st choice of airgun these days, the older ones with the leather piston head were low on power, the later models have a synthetic piston head & give close to legal limit power, all in all a very well made & accurate gun, in decent nick it should be worth £100 plus hope this helps.
  19. Hatsan 60s best low priced gun out there bar none! & yes I have tried & owned most of the weihrauchs including hw100, all I will say is that the hatsan benefits from a strip down & de-burring/re-lube, it's a cracking little gun with plenty of power & accuracy for hunting.
  20. Yeah it's worth a go, I'd ditch the original double mainsprings in favour of a BSA meteor one,you can get parts for it from a firm called protek I think or chambers you'll find both these firms on the web, have fun with it!
  21. I think a good introduction into sporting clays is perfect for any novice starting out, as it promotes good gun safety & sharpens you up for the real thing.
