    A wild rabbit will smell A LOT different to a domestic one. Because the domestic rabbit isn't showing any of the body language it would in the wild, this doesn't stimulate the dog much. Besides, dogs only really go into hunting mode when they're in familiar places where they've seen rabbits before (from my experience), the dog will see it as a member of the pack (household) or it'll just be pretty f*cking confused. haha. Nice dog by the way.

    Yeah, I've worked with a lot of dogs and the pointer breed are very switched on, willing to work and fast! Anyone have a cross?

    Saw a wee 5 month old pup yesterday, at first glance it looked like a deerhound cross until I asked the dude what it had in it. Obviously you can't determine its ability from looks but it was a fast wee thing and seemed pretty switched on. It was pretty leggy with a rich chocolate brown coat, a gorgeous dog to say the least. Curious to know if anyone runs pointer in their dogs? I'm aware they're intelligent and have good noses.     Gorgeous dog. Breed her with a greyhound and you'll have yourself an absolute machine. Too much bull? Possibly, only because it might be too heavy mouthed.
