So drove down to my ferreting partners house today to see how his house to see how his stock were getting on he now has 3 kits 2 nice poley hobs and a little silver jill ..so we were talking and we said we would go for a drive to our permissions and brought the deerhound cross and his collie grey pup did all our local ones and the rabbit population seem very good and some new burrows ...then we went to some of our far away permissions and we were on our biggest one 400 acres of rabbit heaven its intensively farmed dairy farm with the best of grass and the rabbit population has exploded the
,my kits are 18 weeks old havent entered them yet and wont for another monthe they have had collars on and are used to it but not entering it b afraid get a bad kick at this age and would ruin em forever

last season we worked mostly hobs apart from my jill and ferreting partners 4 jills and no hobs on pest control jobs ...for the Sunday outing we where taking out 5 hobs and 2 jills...jills are fantastic they seem a bit faster and if ya get a good one they are priceless and will guaranteed to put plenty bunnys in the nets the hods are a little slower will kill most of the time but saying that we had a smallish albino hob who did bolt alot of the time and we also had a jill who had got the knack of killing em straight away
the runt of my litter was the boss after i weaned em she got the food first now shes back and the size difference between her and her sister is unreal and the small one always starts the play fighting
So sunday i had a brain wave to build a court as theere was aload of timber around after we had redone all our fences in the horse fields

when im in school what I usually do is check them in the morning and give them fresh water and remove any few remains of the food from the night before and take a rabbit out of the freezer then when I get home I clean them out give them all there feed and handle them for a while
I have a doublee story that i bought of jjigsaw off here and i cut out a ramp that can be put up or down for it to give them some exercise but have closed the ramp up when i weaned the jill i was just wondering could i drop the ramp again and leave them mix advice would be appreciated
saw it yesterday and i couldnt figure out the difference in colours of the 4th generation albinos and the piebald jills would love to give ema ring and ask for pics of the jills
I finaly got my air rifle today its a diana .177 went out today on one of my per missionst that i ferre after I zeroed in the scope which is a tasco pronghorn..any way i got there around half 8 had a walk around easily saw 50 babies in the long grass left them alone for the ferreting season but i saw a rabbit 35/36 yards away got into a good position and put the cross hares on the head and pulled the trigger and she dropped on the spot a clean head shot a fine healthy doe to feed the ferret kits
