  1. lets hope them permissions turn out good then. Bubba sounds a good name, sure you wont be calling him that though during initial training ha, might have to change his name to b*****d or something along those lines
  2. Not usually on this late but carnt sleep, anyway, nothing but the best for my hawk ive just sold an air rifle so ive a little extra cash so thought i would treat him lol Make sure you get plenty of pics up of the hawk, ive not seen any myxi about just yet so fingers crossed it will keep away and my season will be a gud un, ive been keeping the catty on me at all times to knock any off that crop up but thankfully i havent had to use it yet
  3. 2 tail feathers left to drop and grow threw and im done, he certainly got a move on after his slow start. Im buying him a frozen guinea fowl tommorow for something different, hopefully have the last two feathers dropping ha
  4. Mines fine, must be a female thing not like them to pass up a good meal
  5. Im not too bad a shot, feel a little guily when i didnt kill it outright but we was there in seconds kizza was impressed with the shot ha carnt wait for the season to come and the cover to die off, it will be getting some serious use then
  6. I walked all the fields and didnt get one shot, get to his house and manage to kill something ha, i couldnt pull it back as far as i would have liked as theres a garden at the back of his, the steel had enough clearance for a safe shot but you carnt be too carefull.
  7. Went for a walk with the dogs with kizzap13 and his dogs, got to his house and there on the fence was a dove, nobody about so he told me to drop it, got the catty missed the first shot by inches but it stayed, second shot dropped it but a little bit further in the breast then i would have liked so not a clean kill hence the headless dove, the 9.5 steel had gone straight through the breast and broken the wing as you can see in the pic. Let him have it for his hawk. Then to top it off on the way back home my staff was attacked by a german shepard let off the lead by some f*****g moron, my dogs
  8. f*****g fuming, just been for a walk and the staffs ended up in a fight with a german shepard of the lead, his dog started it but mine finished it, why the f**k dont people keep dogs on the leads

  9. Its quickly coming up to the time when we will be back out with the birds or newcomers are ready to pick there birds up for the upcoming season Which means its time to start looking for telemetry, i recently bought a transmitter after being contacted regarding a wanted ad. I bought a scout transmitter paid for it one day and the transmitter was here the next by 9am top quality product, service and communication. So for any lads looking for a telemery set, receiver or transmitter id suggest to get in touch with this lad I.birdy@live.co.uk These are some of the sets he has for sale a
  10. http://$%^&*&^%$£$%^&*(/showthread.php?t=72563&highlight=lupo You will enjoy this thread, he has quite a few outings on duck and targets a range of quarry You might have to become a member to view the pics?
  11. I think it depends on the bird as to what he does. That female is tethered at the moment and he still weathers her in the garden but I think he will be free lofting her soon. I guess I need to keep my options open and just see what sort of temperament my bird has got. Haven't watched the second DVD mate yet, will watch it this week at some point though. Loved the first one. Youve got a year to decide what your gonna do, plans change, you might end up with a golden eagle yet
  12. Im glad you took that kindly, a few would have snapped my head off lol Good luck with what ever you choose, just tread carefully and dont rush into anything your going to regret
  13. I put mine on in intervals, stopped them from working to get it off, if i left it on for a long period of time they would sit there playing with it until it came off, i whisked an egg put the collars on and put a little bit in the bottom of a ramekin dish, this took there minds of the collar and they forgot id put it on on and left it, did this for a little bit more time everyday until they let me put it on without trying to take it off Dont give too much egg either just enough to line the bottom of the dish
  14. Maybe, all birds are different so its impossible to predict what will happen, what does your mentor do during the moult? Did you watch that other dvd
  15. Im inbetween, no contact with the bird but his aviary is fully open year round, not had a problem he has been very well mannered and ive not heard a murmor from him in months
  16. Mate wait till you see the difference between a well handled bird during the season and one at fat weight, if it is anything like mine youd better have your tools ready for that outside weathering, mine changed from a very good tempered bird to an absolute nightmare.
  17. Agreed but he did say when in the moult he would attatch an outside open meshed roof accessible by the window so that would give the bird the choice of staying outside to weather or keep dry inside the garage part, providing this happens and with the slight changes you and i suggested i dont think its too bad of an idea, then he can just do what i do to clean the bird, wait till he is in his weathering part then close of the window clean inside then do the opposite for the outside
  18. MY HERO......... Come on you two dont start, can do without a two page argument on my thread
  19. looks good but if it was me i would have a little more viewing room for the bird, where the bird is sat he is only going to see very little maybe extend the bars a little, if you draw a line from the right corner of the perch to the right corner of the door the birds view is very limited, this is just me its your bird so do what you thinks best, also if possible try and place the ferrets in the birds view it will help massively for when you begin to work the bird over them. Even if its only temporary
  20. Ive just brought a catapult to give it a try! Cant wait to get it out and give it a try! There a great piece of kit wouldnt be without mine, had four kills so far 3 pigeon 1 dove, squirrels are next on the list, what catty you bought mate? Nice shooting mate! i doubt ill be shooting at live quarry anytime soon tho! and ive got a Barnett Black Widow, i don't know what its like i haven't received it yet but would you say this is a good catapult for a first? Ive also purchased some 10mm ball bearings but i didn't know what size to use, and recommendations on the size you recommend?
  21. First rabbit they get give them a good rag at it let them play and pull at it and really let them enjoy themselves with it, you will see once they get there first rabbit after pissing about in the burrow a good rag seems to really switch them on, in my experience anyway
  22. http://rebelslingshotforum.freeforums.org/slingshot-hunter-s-corner-f7-275.html Theres a few of your kills on this page Thanks mate they will be put to good use here ha
