  2. Milk bottles cut up, mould made, ready for a hdpe catty tommorow
  3. Try again for falconry in october time most birds are still moulting and not yet hunting
  4. Thanks will try that, got all my bottles cut up anyway will put pics up in a few days if it turns out ok
  5. Thanks mate gonna band it up with singles and shoot it a little then will keep it as a momento, going to have a go at the hdpe milk bottle catty
  6. One of mines just came out of season and the other is on its way, about 3 weeks since i left both hobs in 2 rabbit runs side by side, anyway one escaped into the other and a big fight broke out but i decided to leave them to sort themselves out and they are right as rain now, looks promising for keeping them both together this season, and there not litter mates
  7. Very nice anyone who fly birds in surrey would be daft not to take you up on your offer
  8. Thanks mate, took me ages but im happy with it, gonna give your milk bottle idea next
  9. Ok thanks once ive gone over it with sandpaper i will stain it and try the superglue, thank you
  10. Sorry didnt see the link, will superglue not go white when it sets?
  11. Once stained is there a clear coat i could put over the top to get a smoother finish?
  12. Thanks its only having singles on it so if it is pine im sure it wont break, plus its 1 1/2 inch thick lol Is tru oil clear or if not what colour will it be once its applied?
  13. After trying to find that perfect tree fork for weeks i caved in and had a go at making my first catapult with a board cut, havent a clue what wood it is but after firing 5 12mm leads at one of the boards i think it qualifies as safe for use. Made with coping saw and hand files it took quite a while to make to a standard i was happy with, i based it on my current hunting catty just until i knew i could do it then im gonna move onto something more difficult Anyone reccomend a finish for it, looking for a dark colour and a glass smooth finish Thanks
  14. Put a wet towl over the perch and keep him on there until they sharpen up, sounds daft but works brilliantly
  15. Thats only for birds that require A10`s and since harris hawks dont need one neither does there feathers
  16. Thanks for the replies, i saw two tail feathers from a male harris go for £10.50 and i had three sets one for if i need some, another for if anyone else needed them then another with 8 tail feathers that isnt needed, i say ive sold them but there still on auction for a start of £20 and ive got two people both asking to end the auction ( one the native, then someone else) for £35 but i will probably be able to squeeze £40 i think
  17. Watched it but would never again, still dont bother me about anyone else watching it, if you dont like something then dont do it again and leave those that do to their own devices, not hurting me
  18. Right i know this is a weird one but ive sold a set of my harris hawk feathers that i no longer need, only its to someone in the US who is a native american and uses them for tribal purposes, she has told me she has a licence to keep native bird feathers, so is it legal for me to send them to her as a harris hawk is native over there, despite her having a licence do i need to send it to somewhere else first, just need to cover my own back dont want to be arrested for illegal smuggling haha Thanks
  19. Not long now !!!

  20. Nothings better than being out with your bird and a ferret, heartstopping stuff is a rabbit flight ha
  21. No mate, not anywhere its anyone, you need to find someone who does falconry as a hobby who is willing to teach you what to do, go onto the falconry forum and ask on there, not sure if theres anyone from scotland who flys birds on here. Atb
  22. Only requirement you need right now is a mentor to spend a season with before you get your own bird, the rest will come later. Legal requirements wise, there are none, no courses. Good luck
