  4. Yes they are brand new (the 393 batteries are the same as my falconry transmitter) I've double checked using a battery tester.
  5. Bought a MK 3 locator and collar of a forum member and it seems not to work. I'm hoping it's something I'm doing wrong. Can someone tell me the correct position of the transmitter batteries ie '+' side both facing upwards/downwards. Also am I listening for the same 'click' as a MK 1 ? Thanks in advance.
  6. My wife was walking our old greyhound on a lead. A cat for some reason walked over to greet them and the greyhound picked it up shook it a few times and that was the end of the cat. the incident was watched by several neighbours who came out to see what all the noise was about. cat and wife screaming. I was at home at the time and the wife came home hysterical thinking she was going to be sent to jail and that the dog would be put down. I phoned the police, and they did know about the incident. He did say they would not pursue the matter because the dog was on a lead, he also added that as
  7. Thanks that explains alot! I've been filling mine up 3/4 with water and have in the two times I've used it produced a sort of mush I can't find the instuction book but I'm sure it did say that it must be at least 50% full. I presume that is ingredients and not water. Will try again.
  8. My first lurcher when I was a kid 30+ years ago was a first cross springer/whippet. It was way too slow for rabbits in the open, but was a fantastic ferreting companion, second to none. A Greyhound cross would bring the speed up and IMHO would make a good rabbit dog but no better than a collie or some of the more traditional crosses.
  9. Never had dealings with Muntjac here in Scotland but my whippet got savaged by a rabbit on Friday She caught the rabbit and the blighter sunk its teeth right into her toe, it has swollen to 3x's it's size and have just had to give antibiotics!
  10. Thanks, I can trace her breeding back several generations all whippet until we come to a dam way back in her history a greyhound called Goodnight Nurse she was put bred to Sup Rch 'Sing on' to produce RCH HCH Country music. If you follow his line they are all pedigree racing whippets , even with the greyhound in them! So yes you are right i think that many whippet pedigrees are shall we say 'suspect'. Indeed if I was that way inclined I could have 'acquired' pedigees for her pups that she had last year. Incidently despite her only being 17 inches her sire is 23 inches no dou
  11. Annie 17 inch non pedigree 'hardblood'. Fox - no, Deer - no, Hares - the odd one or two Rabbits - lots. Oh and she rarely shivers
