  1. I have always prefured to bait with fish, i would rather spend my summer evenings with a steak on the bbq slurping on a cold beer than picking up shit.
  2. I have heard that nostell priory has a decent head of big pike, iv even heard it described as possibly yorkshires best pike venue. Has anyone fished this place?, what size pike are known to be in? Is this water still on the wakefield book and if not who has it? Thanks.
  3. Appart from when i was having bother around pheasant pens or they were sick, lame or the terrier killed them, i always let vixens run until the ban. But now the law says i can only work my terriers for pest control purposes rather than for the management of foxes. I wonder how many foxes that would have been allowed to run, have been dispached because of the ban!!
  4. Its all too easy to loose a good dog but its hard to replace them. Sorry to hear about havock mate, he looked a strong beast.
  5. Cheers lads.... its a bit of a kick in the bollocks though when most people could just walk 5 minutes to the chemist and pick a bottle up when needed!!
  6. Thats a bit shit... where you getting it now then paulus mate? Its good tackle!
  7. Benzol benzoate, you can get it at the chemist.
  8. I personally wouldnt have a so called entered dog given. You might be given a trial, but i still think you run the risk of buying someone elses problems so i would always prefur a pup out of well bred working parents. I would say 200-250 quid is fair, but theres no gauruntees of a pup making the grade- no matter whats in its breeding, you pay your money and take your chance.
  9. I got it a few month ago now, its been dug to a few times and is on the money, i use b&f box and collars, my mate swears by the peips box and b&f collars, and iv heard good things about barryvox and b&f collars.
  10. What exactly have i said to kill terrierwork... i work my terriers within the law on land i have permission to do so. The rspca are invited to inspect my kennels any time they like, i have nothing to hide.
  11. Im using a phone mate and havent a clue how to go about it? where does the attitude come from and is there any need? I have nothing to prove but feel free to pay me a visit, dont even try and make me out to be a mug.
  12. Think the question should be do you prefur a dog that gets up close or stands off and bays. Baying dogs still need to stay at its fox to persuade him to shift otherwise charlie boy will sit it out. You can never rely on a fox bolting though and if you scared to pick your tools up, you in the wrong game!
  13. Just been having a catch up with an old digging friend and remembering past digs and the dogs we dug to, and a particular dig in early january in 1994. I had to find the date in an old digging journal. The dog i had out that day was a strong red dog by the name of tex and we stayed local that day, about 5 mins walk from my house at the time. Anyway to cut a long story short we tried tex in a spot we knew held under a beech tree and sure enough he fired up... we got a mark at 6ft on the old grey knocker box so we set to and started to shift some muck. I remember how hard going it was with the
  14. Merry xmas sweetheart. I just hope that you bushing and ratting men for the sake of us terriermen and our terriers stick to plummers instead of breeding from non-workers then advertising them in countrymans weekly as both parents working. I have ferrets that work what your dogs do. Take care, and a happy new year!
  15. Keith you and johnny have plagued me on a few different matters, subjects you dont seem to have any sort of a clue about. I havent got a problem with ratting or rabbiting but its hardly a worthy test of a terrier, any dog given a fair chance at rat will fair well. You and johnny butt plug are of the oppinion that your dogs are capable of earth work and that may be true but many a good ratting terrier falls short when asked to face a more substancial opponant where most digging dogs take to ratting like a duck to water. Like i said before- ratting is for pups!
  16. I like my dogs to get up close and stay until dug to, but i always have kennel space for a little baying bitch for working and bolting foxes from rock piles and awkward spots.
  17. I was banned from here because i was verbally abused by a pair of clueless spunk monkeys and bit back at them. Keith and johnny the difference between us is i dont cry to moderators. Are your dogs as cowardly as you? Is that why you stick to rats?
  18. And this johnny777 comes from a so called terrierman that thinks its barbaric to dock working dogs tails..... you are as clueless as keith. People like you shouldnt be allowed to keep terriers after reading the shit you talk about docking!! Pull your tongue out of brian plummers arse-
  19. No but he started gettin personal to me. I never asked him to comment and he spits his f****n dummy, why open his mouth in the first place his opinion means f**k all to me he has proven himself clueless the few times iv been unfortunate enough to come across him
  20. Yeah mate its a. 22 benjamin discovery, iv heard it loves jsb so goin to try them, thanks for the input
  21. Poor keith... i must have hit a nerve- your biteing like a pack of pissed off plummers! I never asked you to comment i asked for opinions, which we all entitled to. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder, and yeah my dogs arnt bad at all because i demand that they upto their true purpose in life- earthwork, and if they dont make the grade i dont have kennell space for them, it costs as much to feed a bad un as it does a good un.
  22. Iv got some permission in penrith near newton rigg college, i got that when i was on a keepering course, got some at dalton just off the a66 and my mate has some at brough.
  23. So keith are you telling me a poodle wont kill rats, you really are clueless
