  1. Yep ive try that matt, leave it down for 35 days get it under control and then swap to monitoring bait and then they are back a month later. I know where they are living but the owners of the ground dont want to pay you to go on there ground because its not effecting them Atb
  2. No harbourage around site, theres a car park one side which is not own by them with rat burrows which im not allowed to bait, a hotel which doesn't want anything done and a pub which has pest control so they will move about if I cant get on any of the other ground im stuck because I'm only controlling a postage stamp place. there's no food source on the site apart from when they leave the bins open so they are just moving from ground which is not own by them to there place because they know they can get food, ive explained this to the client but they cant see it!you clear the infestation and t

  4. Hi lads, My question is will you ever control rats 100% on a outside contract? I have a childrens nursery contract which I do, which has a rat problem I took the job on about 4 months ago on an ongoing contract, I have placed poison wherever possible theres around 14 bait boxes which I checked on a regular bases and top up when required, the poison has been going steady but not loads but just occasionally,I had a phone call about 3 weeks ago to say that the workers are seeing rats around so I go that day and check the bait points again a little from each one but nothing major again has bee

  11. I normally stick my 17hmr in a workman bench and then put something soft around it then screw it up until tight and then fire and then adjust the scope never had any problems doing it this way. Or occasionally i do it of the bipod with a gun bag under the stock. atb
  12. What power is it mate?
  13. It could be that he has an issue with shooting at night due to dangers for example when that young lad got shot who was laying out in the field that was in a lot of magazines and papers so maybe thats why, at the end of the day if its his ground he sets the rules and as you say no point in rocking the boat. just keep shooting it whenever you can and in the meanwhile keep your eye open for some new ground which you might be able to lamp Atb
  14. I wouldn't pay for the above due to getting lost with 100s of other pest controller's and at the end of the day your lining middle men's pockets. as above I think money is better spent on a good website. Atb
  15. Hi lads After buying a new 243 rifle I am finding the scope which came with it a bit of a pain ive got a nikko sterling 3-12x56 and it has a centre dot which I find at 100 yards or more the dot blocks out what your looking at which makes it hard to make it accurate if that makes sense. So I am thinking of changing the scope to a normal cross hair scope but also with more mag, can any recommend a good mid market scope? Ive been looking at the nikon 6-24x50 any good? Atb Froudy
  16. I think its down to people trying to make a quick buck by shooting them at night which is illegal but greed gets the better of them! and maybe this has happened before on the permission, or maybe he is worried about the deer as he leases it out for money? Maybe he's hasn't got the shooting rights on the land? Or could be that he doesn't want a phone call from the police to clarify who you are, just a few things coukd ve something completely different Atb Froudy
  17. Im a full time pest controller and agree that a food source which rats are use to feeding on will be more effective in traps than chocolate or peanut butter, this is not to say that chocolate or peanut butter wont catch rats as I have caught many but for effective catching I would be using something that rats are attracted regularly there for.
